What to expect
The Ranger Red's Zoo & Conservation Park Zookeeper for a Day program is tailored for wildlife enthusiasts aged 8 to 16. Successful zookeepers need more than age; they must be brave, hardworking, and responsible as they interact with various wild animals. Whether flying, slithering, or biting, the role demands respect and courage. Participants may be grouped by age and experience, exploring non-public zoo areas.
This experience offers diverse tasks, from bottle-feeding baby Rufous Bettongs to handling a 2.5-meter Olive Python. Junior Zookeepers engage in hands-on activities like animal husbandry, feeding, and learning about endangered species' captive breeding. Overall, this opportunity fosters a deeper understanding and respect for the natural world.
