What to expect

Changchun Ice and Snow World, located in the Changchun Lotus Mountain Eco-Tourism Resort, is one of the top winter cultural and tourism landmarks in Northeast China. With “ice and snow as the pen, and heaven and earth as the scroll,” it transforms into a 600,000-square-meter ice and snow art extravaganza every winter, becoming the reason countless tourists flock to Northeast China. From its opening in December to February of the following year, tens of thousands of cubic meters of ice and snow are used here to create over a thousand ice sculptures and snow sculptures. During the day, the ice sculptures are as clear as crystal, with a cold luster reflecting under the sunlight; at night, they are illuminated by thousands of colored lights, with red, blue, purple, and other neon lights wrapped around the ice structures, resembling a magical kingdom from a fairy tale. A core highlight of the park is the dual attribute of “immersive ice and snow experience”: In terms of artistic appreciation, the main sculpture “Crown of Ice and Snow” sets a record with its 100-meter-high ice tower. The ice sculpture groups contain intangible cultural heritage elements and city landmarks, and every spot is perfect for taking blockbuster photos. In terms of interactive fun, 20+ projects cover all age groups—the hundred-meter-long ice slide is a “must-play item,” and the thrill of rushing down while sitting on a snow tube is matched with the flowing light on the ice surface, making it both exciting and romantic. Ice bumper cars and snowmobiles are the favorites of families with children, while ice caves and snow mazes have become popular spots for internet celebrities to check in, with a magical filter of swirling cold mist.
