The PADI Advanced Freediver course is an excellent next step for those who have completed the PADI Freediver course and want to take their skills to the next level.

What to expect

The PADI Advanced Freediver™ course consists of three parts: knowledge development, skill practice in a pool or confined water, and two ocean dives. Start with the PADI Freediver Online course. If available in your language, continue with the Advanced Freediver section. If not, your instructor may offer in-person sessions. After learning advanced freediving techniques, you'll practice static and dynamic apnea in a pool, aiming for a static apnea of 2:30 minutes (2 minutes for those under 18) and a dynamic apnea of 50 meters (40 meters for those under 18). During two ocean dives, you’ll practice deeper free immersion and constant weight dives, aiming for 20 meters (15 meters for those under 18).
