What to expect
The Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori festival is held every year at the end of August and is one of Tokyo’s largest festivals, attracting approximately 1 million visitors. Two months later, the “Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori Plus +” event will feature an introduction to the history of the Koenji Awa Odori, performances by local Ren (Awa Odori groups), musical instrument experiences, dancing, and a chance to try on a basic Awa Odori costume. The climax will be a spectacular performance that combines traditional performing arts and digital arts. This is a program that allows you to experience the charm of Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori to the fullest! In addition, there will be an after-party around Koenji Station where you can interact with the Awa Odori dancers!
