Host Introduction
Hello everyone, I am the host from Beijing, Woyun Xuanzhu. Since childhood, I have been influenced by Beijing's traditional culture and love poetry, calligraphy, and traditional Chinese painting. Among them, I have a special preference for traditional Chinese painting, especially flower and bird paintings. I have successively received meticulous guidance from Mr. Xu Zhan, Liu Cunhui, and Guo Shifu. For decades, I have never stopped practicing calligraphy and painting, learning from nature and gaining insights from the heart. My works have been widely praised in the field of freehand flower and bird painting and have been collected by buyers from many countries such as the United States, Britain, France, Germany, and Russia. Now, I have my own studio in Donghua Gate of the Forbidden City in Beijing—Woyun Xuan, dedicated to the inheritance of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
Experience Introduction
There is an old Beijing folk rhyme that says, “A fan brings wind when held in hand; someone will borrow it when winter comes.” In the hot summer, painting a small scene or writing a few words of message on a fan, and shaking the fan to bring a breeze, you will feel that your troubles are eliminated. The brush and ink dilute some of the trivialities in life, and the calligraphy and painting add some strength. It can be called a cool friend, and even a good friend. During your leisure time, come to my studio, and I will share with you the traditional Beijing skill of painting fan surfaces. Then, you can create a fan painting by yourself. With a cup of fragrant tea, you will be calm and relaxed. Time stays here, whether it is slow or fast, just maintain your mentality.
Venue Introduction
The venue is located outside Donghua Gate, or Donghua Gate, of the Forbidden City, with convenient transportation. The studio is filled with antique furniture, creating a strong atmosphere of calligraphy and painting.
Experience Process
Starting at 14:00 in the afternoon (other times can be negotiated); I will first introduce to you the origin of the traditional skill of painting fan surfaces and calligraphy and painting works; Then I will demonstrate to you how to paint on a fan; Next, you can complete a fan painting yourself under guidance.
