This autumn, the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts proudly presents the special exhibition "Von Wolfe's Garden Fortress," the first major Asian retrospective of British artist Von Wolfe. The exhibition runs from November 15, 2025, to April 19, 2026, featuring over 60 works spanning nearly 20 years of creative journey—where oil painting meets algorithms, and classical art merges with the digital world.

Born into an artistic family, Von Wolfe inherited profound artistic and philosophical literacy. The exhibition title "Garden Fortress" echoes the museum's greenery, symbolizing a contradictory yet enchanting contemporary Garden of Eden—both a creative paradise and a battlefield of contemplation, and metaphorically representing Taiwan's crucial position in technology and geopolitics.

The exhibition opens with early cross-cultural collage works, where Von Wolfe reconstructs Picasso's Cubism and Japanese Ukiyo-e, showcasing a dialogue between Eastern and Western aesthetics; followed by contemporary interpretations of the light and shadow magic of Da Vinci and Rembrandt. These works are based on traditional oil painting techniques, reweaving classic images from art history through visual deconstruction and reorganization.

The highlight of this exhibition is Von Wolfe's recent avant-garde creative experiments in collaboration with artificial intelligence. He starts with AI-generated images and then meticulously repaints them using oil painting techniques. The algorithmic structure and human touch create a chemical reaction, weaving a contemporary artistic language that coexists with rationality and sensibility on the canvas, witnessing a new chapter in artistic creation in the age of technology.
