Good

Stayed with kids

It's a unique property and makes for an interesting place to stay. Some spaces are awkward to access due to building shape and some low ceiling due to thatched roof, not a huge problem but makes it slightly more awkward carrying baggage to/from the room. Ventilation was poor resulting in it being excessively hot on the 1st floor. I understand that the weather was the main factor but lack of AC in the room or even in the corridor, made for 1 of the most uncomfortable nights we have had. Staff did supply a fan but that just move warm air around despite windows being open overnight. Have stayed here multiple times but will reconsider in future if planning to stay during summer. Staff were apologetic, but were unable to offer any more comfortable rooms on the ground floor.

Below average

Solo stay

Although the hotel was good in many areas (cleanliness, appearance, parking, breakfast) a room at this price point should have air conditioning. My bedroom was only equipped with a low powered small fan, and with inadequate airflow from the window it remained no lower than 27c all night. I would also expect an EV destination charger at a hotel like the Pilgrim Inn.

Room lovely and cool - you could open the windows. Large room with coffee machine, water and biscuits. Good car parking. TV was not the best - could only view a couple of channels. Pillows were very soft and not to our liking , but this is personal preference. Overall a great stay.

Fantastic

Beautiful room, more than large enough for our family of 3. Extremely clean and well presented. The only thing I can suggest is to add a small fridge and nappy bin, given the room is marketed for families it would be handy. Otherwise, staff were extremely friendly, room was very comfortable, we particularly enjoyed the towel robes they provided! Would absolutely come and stay again at this gorgeous hotel.

The Pilgrim Inn is everything you're hoping for. Traditional setting, traditional vibe, and a team of staff that laugh hard, work hard, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is outstanding and we can't recommend the English Pea Ravioli highly enough. We stayed for a week and could have happily stayed longer. Something to note is that the bus stop is right at the Inn and you can get to Hythe, Southampton and other places cheaply and easily. They can accommodate larger parties or just a romantic couple. 10/10 and I'm sure we'll be back when we're in the area.

Great

Really friendly staff & very clean everywhere which was great. House keeping staff were lovely & very helpful. Quite easily the cleanest place we have stayed in. Possibly some of the rooms were more style than substance as not practical in places. Some maintenance issues regarding loose tap in Room 3 . Do note : Avoid room 12 especially in hot weather as incredibly hot!! Poor ventilation & a pathetic fan which just blew around warm air. We asked to be moved after experiencing the worst night’s sleep ever! Happily there was a spare room on the ground floor. Ground floor rooms are best in warm/ hot weather as a lot cooler. I would return but would specify a ground floor room . Parking wasn’t an issue & food / breakfast was very good.
