Great
Perfect location and noise bearable (with ear plugs) as on main road. Apartment was well kitted out and no real issues. A tiny (and cheap) thing but may needed for shower as very slippy and none provided so had to use a towel, not ideal. Only thing that is likely to prevent is staying again is quality of mattress - too soft and so not terribly comfortable sleep. If replaced for better quality one then would certainly do so.

We were only staying overnight as at a concert at the castle. We checked in at 3pm and left, returning at midnight. So didn't manage to experience all aspects of the apartment. Check in great. Apartment 12, very spacious and perfunctory. No frills really for the price.Difficulty getting TV channels. No microwave; no instructions how to use the Nespresso machine so didn't bother. Only one type of t-bags and basic nescafe coffee sachets. 4 small white sugar sachets and 4 uht milk pots, not forgetting 2 tiny Biscoff biscuits. For the price and rating, would expect a pint of fresh milk and a good selection of hot drinks products. Products in the bathroom are excellent. The king size bed was a let down - not comfortable at all - neither of us slept well. Had a good electric fan which was a necessity as it was warm. The apartment was spotless and comfortable. Didn't hear any noise from neighbours at all. I think that to realise its full potential you'd have to stay longer. Well placed for accessing Haymarket Train Station, Trams and buses. All in all a brief but relaxing stay.

Apartment is very clean, check in was easy, location is convenient. A few things to note: -the listing states there is a king size bed however, this is a UK king size bed, which is definitely not the same as what you would be used to in the US. It is similar to a US double or full size. -there is no air-conditioning and you can only open the windows about 2 inches so even if it is fairly temperate outside, it will be very hot in the apartment. It would be helpful if they put in some sort of whole house fan system or ceiling fans. -they should provide some instructions on how to use the washing machine and dishwasher. -We were not advised that anyone would be entering the apartment during our stay. After a few days, someone came in while we were gone and gave us more toilet tissue and towels however, if we had known someone was entering the apartment, we would have put things away, like passports, etc.

Great

Loved the location, close to grocery store, restaurants, train/tram & bus station. It’s a very busy area with traffic & people walking about, but that noise is barely noticeable inside. The flat was well appointed and comfortable, with a small kitchen & all you’d need to cook a meal. The bathroom had shelf space above the vanity, which is one reason I chose this flat. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was in the back, making for a nice quiet nights sleep. The only issue we had (as foreigners) was the combination w/d really needs to have directions posted near it. The directions received in an email seemed to be for a different unit, so we struggled with how to use the appliance. Other than that, we loved the old building and the walkability of the neighborhood and its proximity to the Edinburgh Castle & Royal mile. We would definitely recommend The Distillers House to anyone we know who might visit in the future.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. The apartment was clean, fully equipped and comfortable. The location is close to Haymarket which is convenient for getting around. The West End has a lot to offer, plenty of restaurants and pubs.
