This is not a 4 star and I am very skeptical of the overall review rating. I'd give it a 2 or 3 star, and rate it a solid 6 overall.The room had an odd odor and was musty (it was warm.during my stay, so maybe that's why). The room was clean but dated. There was so much furniture in the hotel, but so random. The breakfast was not good. For what they had it seemed like old, reheated food.

We booked for one night, and were looking forward to using the spa facilities. When we arrived, we were told that they were shut for refurbishment. Apparently, this work has been going on for some time. I was told an email had been sent out. I did not receive any email. The hotel has a duty to let people know such things, so they have a choice of changing their plans. I noticed a lot of unhappy people that weekend. They are not afraid to charge top prices, and yet offer very little in return.

For leisure

Food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. Only issue was room temperature was too warm and we couldn’t get the heat turned off. Staff did try to resolve issue. They were helpful; brought us a fan, which helped.

Very clean and a little dated.Old USB outlets and one electrical outlet in the room. Breakfast was very basic and underwhelming. Staff was great and bar/restaurant was a 7 out of 10
