We enjoyed our stay at Villa Pera. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, on the only day we asked for our room to be serviced, we returned to the hotel late at night to find that the balcony door had been left completely open, allowing rain to pour inside. The bed had also not been made.

Ideal location close to Taksim Square with plenty of restaurants etc close by & perfect for exploring Istanbul.
Villa Pera did the job - clean, helpful staff and arranged airport transfers which took away any hassle.

Top floor, two balconies on two opposite sides of the building, separate bedroom so 4 of us never felt crammed. Excellent square footage, quite equipped kitchen and bathroom. Beds were comfy, location excellent, quiet neighborhood... cannot find a single negative thing.

GoodSolo stay
First hotel of the past 20 booked I wouldn't rebook. Paid for room with kitchenette (primarily for the fridge) but was put in a basic room with no extra amenities.
When I asked about getting what I'd paid for I was met with incomprehension.
So I feel a bit ripped off. There are all sorts of other hotels in wonderful Istanbul--pick one of them instead.
