GreatStayed with kids
Shower was very clean. Room was quite small. The discolored carpets were not so good to look at. The quality of customer service was lacking. The multiple gentlemen at the front entrance never helped hold the doors even with me bringing in and out two big heavy bags i had to position my 7 year old in the door way each time to lean against the heavy doors to keep them open while I hauled the bags in or out. The staff just usually stared at us while we figured it out. Housekeeping ladies were great! The gentleman at the coffee shop was quite rude both times i went to buy coffee in the mornings. So the third morning i decided to make the coffee in my room. When i asked initially if the coffee was complimentary his response was " there is a free thing of water over there ma'am". When i proceeded to pour myself a cup of coffee he immediately begun hounding me about payment i had to tell him 3 times that i would pay as soon as i was done making my cup. Front desk staff also had an air of dismissiveness.

The ice machines on the floors do not work. The vending machine on the 2nd floor do not work. You have to request your daily water from the front desk everyday. The 2 queen beds room have no view.

Okay stay at best. Not worth the price tag nor the “4 star hotel” name. Luggage storage pre or post checkout was $2 a piece (it’s free everywhere else, just tip the employee), elevators were small and dingy (yes it’s an old building, but come on, update those), rooms were dark and damp, and wifi only worked in our room if we sat on the floor near the bathroom. It’s a place to stay on the mag mile, but book elsewhere if you can. Not worth the price we paid.

Alicia and Marcus were great! Hotel is in the heart of everything. Bar is closed on Mondays but there’s a lot of places close by to go to. I was ably to check in a little earlier and store my luggage after checking out.

GoodStayed with family
Our bed seemed smaller than the booked queen, room was very small, ac did not work well at all, could not adjust the temp. The water turned off and on in the shower several times. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was priced accordingly...valet was $75 for 24 hours which tracks. The staff was mostly friendly. We did not call the front desk with the ac issue, we were there one night and did not want to move at 11 pm when we got back from dinner.

I booked this hotel because we needed an affordable hotel for one night and the location on Michigan was ideal for what we needed. This hotel is nicely situated and probably the cheapest in the general area (especially if you have to get a room on somewhat short notice, like a month out), but while it's okay for the price be aware it's not as nice as some of the other hotels nearby. The hotel is old, which means the general rooms are quite small; the one we were in was maybe a small bedroom in overall size with a small bathroom where the shower, toilet, and sink are close together. (I have been in even smaller rooms when staying here years ago. Our room this time was also better maintained.) Again, fine if all you need is a place to sleep, and the bed was comfy. The halls are also narrow, which means you will hear people, so earplugs are a good idea, and the elevators are very narrow--big luggage might be a Tetris game. Amenities aren't wide-ranging, though there is a small "cafe" with grab and go items; however, a lot of bakeries, cafes, and the like are also nearby, as well as good restaurants.
Heads up that you need to take an elevator up to the second floor to check in.
