Great
We had a great experience there. The hotel is a quiet and peaceful place adjacent to a big park. The staff is polite and humble and helped us in serving special meals for our toddler.

They don't recognize Expedia Booking confirmation no. I was busy in check in for more then 30 min just to send mail so that they can accept my reservation. Probably this last time I am booking with Expedia. When Start is not pleasant everything feels useless.

Fantastic
It was a pleasant stay in a heritage hotel. It was a small old palace, primarily for the cars of royal family and for the time to rest in transit or while the cars are being prepared for their use.

We paid 12500 RPS per night (a lot of Money in Índia) expecting a luxurius service. Furniture is old and dirty. Staff is not prepared and not sympathic. They did not tell us we had to call them so they could turn on the boiler that would allow us to take a shower with hot water 30 minutes later. We had to complain to find it out. Hair drier is old and weak. Naturally we were not surprised when we observed we were the only guests in the hotel. We deeply regret spent this amount of money to get a so poor quality service.

Hotel was ok. Service was excellent. Room size was comfortable and clean with enough towels and free water. The door has a screendoor. Inside the room is a separate closet area, and a good size bathroom. And the doorlock is a big padlock. And while you are inside, there is like a bar to lock the doors. Our room also had a sitting area. They have a heater inside the room, I guess to be used during winter time. But also have an airconditioner. Udaipur temperature in the morning and evening was quite chilly, which took us a little bit surprised upon getting down from the airplane. The hotel has 2 floors, there are no elevators. Breakfast was on the ground floor, but the choices were limited, we were only offered toast, egg and fruits. But I saw some other guests had what looked like bacon, which we were told they didn't have. Overall, hotel was ok, but nothing luxurious, just a place to stay. There is a vintage car museum adjacent to the hotel and a park across. You also could get a discount on your entrance fee to the City Palace Museum, just get a coupon from the hotel, we learned about this from our tour guide.

My stay at Garden hotel was pampered. It is one of the palaces of the royalty and had all the makings of a royal ambience. The staff is highly accomodative and does their best to take care of the guests. The food service is a bit slow when made to order, so we had to wait quite a bit especially during dinner.

Building is beautiful, staff are excellent, breakfast was poor enough and room was reasonable, but the biggest problem is that it is located right by a busy road junction, with all bedrooms backing onto this, without any sound-proofing of the windows and the constant traffic and horns go until after 11p.m. every night and start again early morning. It was the worst and noisiest hotel experience I have had in over 20 years of visiting India. Quite unbelievable! Even trying to talk during the day, at the reception was interrupted by the traffic noise right outside. Udaipur has become so noisy and polluted. Better to select a hotel on the other side of the city, by the Hanuman ghat, which is still very quiet. If you want any kind of relaxation, please avoid this hotel, which is a pity, as it has lots of character and a lovely staff.
