I rarely leave negative reviews, and in fact I have only left one negative review previously, but due to the sanitary concerns involved, I feel obligated to mention this experience.
During my stay at Al Moudira Hotel, food trays and partially consumed drinks from a neighboring room were left directly outside my door and beneath my window on multiple occasions in approximately 108°F heat. On the day of my checkout, the items had remained there overnight for roughly 16 hours, attracting flies and creating an unsanitary environment immediately outside the room.
That was the point at which I finally reported the issue. I then waited approximately 40 minutes to speak with a manager, but the response felt dismissive and lacking urgency.
What disappointed me most was not a single forgotten tray, but the apparent lack of attention given to a basic sanitation concern at a property that presents itself as a luxury experience.
The hotel itself is visually beautiful and unique, but the handling of this situation fell far below expectations.
PS On a previous occasion, before I thought to document it with a photo, an entire meal for two had also been left there for an extended period of time in 108°F heat.

This is an amazing oasis in a quiet area of the West Bank conveniently located near the Valley of Kings and Hapshepsut’s Temple. If you tire of the hustle and bustle and continuous hassle on the streets of Luxor, this is the right place for you. It may be pricey but there is no end to the luxury of this hotel. The pool and spa are wonderful. The gardens are beautiful. The setting is serene. The rooms echo the Ottoman and Omani influences seen in Dar es Salaam. And the food ( particularly the Ottoman Restaurant) is superb. Don’t miss the lamb shank there. It is amazing! The staff are kind and attentive. My travel companion had his birthday there, and without any prompting, the front desk noticed his birthdate on his passport and surprised him with a gourmet birthday cake at breakfast. That type of attention is unusual even at other 5 star hotels. We greatly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful hotel.

Incredible spa ! The yoga teacher is fantastic - pool is gorgeous- many little paths with beautiful daybeds and seating - the farm is so clean and well run. Food is fabulous! Truly farm to table and the management is really fantastic. Lots to do from pottery - bike riding - little shops on resort property- love this place !!

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The setting was like an oriental palace in a dream-like mirage but very real, with stunning rooms, glorious food and the most wonderful staff, not to mention the farm with the animals and the workshops. Not just a hotel but a destination, an oasis!

Al Moudira Hotel was the absolute highlight of my trip. I originally booked two nights and ended up staying six, which really says everything.
The staff was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and the entire property feels like an oasis. The food was excellent, and breakfast offered a huge variety of fresh products sourced directly from their own farm on the property.
Al Moudira was a stark contrast to every other place I stayed in Egypt, including prestigious five-star hotels. It’s simply not comparable. Where other hotels felt busy or impersonal, this place offered pure relaxation and authenticity.
This is the only way I want to experience Egypt going forward. I will absolutely be back.

The property was outstanding! Very tranquil and lush. We enjoyed exploring every bit of the property. The hotel staff were all attentive and respectful. The hotel arranged a local guide, named Hamatto who was just excellent. He is an Egyptologist and gave us so much back story of ancient Egypt. We loved our tours with him!
