What a great way to see both sides of the bay in a day. Included a ferry ride and lunch as well. Loved the St. Andrews brewery visit and Arthurs seat. The tour was on a mini bus seating about 10 and included a knowledgeable and very friendly guide, Matt. All the stops provided enough time to look around. Cheers Kim and Steve
Great experience for families with kids. The train moves quite slowly but it gets there! The Lakeside journey had miniature train exhibit and a paddleboat with gorgeous lakeview. Bring some biscuit or bread so you can picnic by the lakeside and feed some ducks there. We went during autumn so could see plenty of trees turning red, orange, yellow... Just Beautiful!
Lovely day at the zoo, which was bigger than expected and well-turned for a few sections. This sort of tapers off a little after the first big areas but still some standout exhibits. Open ring tailed lemur exhibit was lovely, as was the butterfly gallery. Nice to also look a little behind the scenes at what the zoo is doing to keep sustainable. They have their own plant nursery (and a lot of the plants in the zoo itself are wonderful) and create 2000kg of compost a day.
Worth the visit! Spent a full afternoon here.
Difficulty looking for parking so go early.
Very good experience as trains are replaced by electric trains etc.
A lot of photo opportunities.
There was nothing to do at lakeside so we quickly hop onto a departing return train (good idea at that time but we had to squeeze in with the others).
Overall a good experience.
We had a great time on the tour with Monique. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all things to do with coffee, its preparation, history, politics and geography. She can also tell you which café is best for the style of coffee you want. Most importantly Monique has an engaging style. I highly recommend this tour to see some streets of Melbourne, sample a range of coffees, learn a lot and have fun.
