Chris was our guide today and he was very funny and a great instructor. I will do this again in a heartbeat. The scenery you go through is breathtaking. We went with Red Paddle Bali and the food they had for lunch was very yummy. The midway point was a great time to get out, grab a drink and take some photos. The stairs going down were steep but easy enough and the stairs going back up were ok, a lot of flat landings in between the stairs.
This was by far the best thing we've done in Bali!
The stairs down to the river we're about 200 long maybe more but when you get to the river into the raft it's all worth it. Our guide was quite humourous too, which added to the experience. Don't feel worried that you're not fit enough or it's too scary because the guide does most of the work and there's only a few rough spots. Not for seasoned rafters but definitely a fun experience
Rafting with Red Paddles along Agung River is our best experience in Bali. We were first picked up to Red Paddles Office, checked-in, put our belongings into the locker, got our equipment (helmets, lifecoat, paddle) there. Then we got on a car ride for 15-20' to the upstream. Then walk down around 300 steps to the river. It rained strongly that day, and we got a more than exciting experience of rafting in a strong river, paved with wide forest, met sonetimes small waterfalls. The guide Duitt is friendly and full of enthousiasm. We rafted for 1.30', including some small stops to take photos. Near the stop, there is a photo taking point where a guy with camera under the rain waiting to take great photos for us from the bank. At the stop, we walked upstair for about 200 steps back to the Paddle Office where we take bath with hot water, and a dinner. All is great.
It was so nice. All of the guides were very helpful. I think it is a must to do activity in Bali. There are 680 steps to arrive to river and when going back you have to take 250 steps. We saw many waterfalls and amazing forests. It was definitely worth it. We had to catch another trip at 4 pm in Seminyak so we couldn't taste the lunch. They were very helpful to take us back alone in the shuttle to catch our next trip. 👍 There are lockers in the rafting place don't worry about your valuables, bring slippers with you.
Overall the experience was as described by the many reviewers, pickup was on time and within the time frame, the activity was fun and not too challenging as mentioned (watch up for the steps down and up for the start and end of the activity). Lunch was alright but definitely not a plus point, and the driver kindly dropped us off at a different location when we requested. Overall a great experience and must try when at Bali.
Participated the afternoon session. Transport pick up from hotel supposed to be between 12.30pm to 1pm. However the driver came at 1150am when the hotel reception called my room, which is way earlier than expected time. Without preparing the change, so I only appeared around 12.15pm. As I am the only one from Petitinget area so I was brought directly to the assemble venue. The journey took about slightly more than 1 hour. Upon arrival I was served with a glass of drink while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. Once the group size reached at 4 pax per boat, since total we have 8, we were brought to the rafting starting point to pick up our Helmut and vest. Walking down to hill might be a challenge for some as there are many steps down to the river. It took about 15 mins walk to the raft but it proven worthy. After a short brief by our guide of paddling skills and safety, the 2 hours with 14km journey started. It was thrilling at some points but safe. Enjoyed the beautiful tropical forests, mini waterfalls and bridges. Stopped by a drink stall after 7km and I had paid for 30k RP for isotonic drink to recharge my energy. Continued for the remaining 7km and there was a down steady slope near to the end of the trip before you need to climb up about 250 steps to the main road where it will lead you to the original assemble point. After a warm shower, simple buffet dinner was served and after that you have the option to purchase the photo which was taken at one point by their photographer, before their driver sending you back to the hotel. Overall, it is a wonderful experience for any beginner. A must trip activity in Bali!
