As one of the furthest islands off Phuket's southern coast, you'll find Racha Yai to be delightfully uncrowded and unspoilt. Boasting mile upon mile of white sandy beaches and world class diving in beautifully clear waters, just a one hour boat ride from Phuket. A typical dive here is a gentle drift along a sloping rock face, sprinkled with a variety of coral forests. Large schools of false barracuda, octopi and cuttlefish can often be spotted, as well as other more common tropical species and Manta Rays. Dives at Racha Yai are calm and easy with depths ranging from 2 meters through to 30+ meters making it perfect for those wanting a relaxing dive and first timers too. The team of highly experienced staff at South Siam have an excellent reputation for safety and instruction. This will be a sure contender for best dive experience, whether you're a proficient diver or complete novice.
Dive at three premier sites off the Phuket coast in one day. The King Cruiser is a wagon ferry wreck from 1997. She came to rest 32 meters down and now attracts huge schools of barracuda, travellies and snappers as well as scorpion fish and lionfish. The three pinnacles of Shark point are covered with hard and soft coral and known particularly for leopard sharks and nurse sharks. Ko Dok Mai (flower island) is a small lone island boasting excellent wall diving ranging from 20-30 meters as well as two caves. Rock oysters, giant clams, sea fans, sea horses, shrimp, nudibranch and schools of yellow tail barracuda can all be seen here. Dive with a team of highly experienced staff, all with an excellent reputation for safety and instruction - you're guaranteed to have a great day under the water!
The day we booked was raining and no one informed us it was cancelled. We had been waiting at the hotel lobby for an hour for nothing. Very difficult to reach out to the organiser.
Ended up change to another day but it was such a waste in the first day waited for such a long time! Could have rest in hotel room or done something else instead of waiting in the lobby.
The diving experience was great and thinking to get a license after that. Would recommend but need to make sure you contact well with the organiser.
One of the best experiences of a lifetime. I finished my 3days course and got qualified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver!!!! 🤿👌🏻🇹🇭
I am so thankful with @southsiamdivers for everything. Special thanks to my Dive instructor Mr.Smith Buranastidporn, he was so professional, attentive, dynamic, thoughtful, Practical, great Leader, super Patient and Cheerful. He walked me through the skills and reassured me when I was doubtful. It was an amazing and wonderful experience. Thank you so much for teaching me how to dive and all you did. Sawadeeka Divemaster Big! 🙏🏻🤿👌🏻🇹🇭
Everything was great. We all learn to scuba dive person to person with one teacher. When I started to dive to water at first, I was scared a bit. But the teacher, Adam made me calm down, and he‘s so humorous. Next diving, I wholly could enjoy the scuba diving with him. I realized It’s funny thing, and it’s a sports which is really important to believe the teacher. And the food and view on the boat was amazing too. I can’t forget this memories forever. Thank you.
Good to have both experienced diving and discovery diving in a single trip to accommodate different needs, which I have searched for long time!
Diver master is very good. Even if my friend tried discovery diving for the very first time, my friend can master some basic skills and enjoyed very much.
Just water is not very clear as it was a raining and windy days. Luckily we can still see many different fishes under water!
My husband and I did a day trip which included 3 dives. Very nice choices as we got a wreck dive, a wall dive and a dive that included thousands of fish and beautifully colored coral. South Siam's boat was had ample room for the divers....never felt crowded. The trip was very organized and our dive instructor Ian was awesome. Highly recommend!
I started my diving hobby in Raya island with Raya Divers. Raya dive instructors are true professionals and also fun to hangout with after dives and during the evenings. I also enjoyed and can highly recommend the Raya Dive Village bungalow accommodation (clean, cosy, AC, worm water, etc.). As a diving site Raya island is a true gem with lots to see.
