About the event

Step into the world of Wang Sha and Ye Feng, the comedic icons from the 1930s to 1990s who established a unique Singapore-style comedy that brought much laughter to their audience.

Explore early getai performances which showed the duo’s talents when performing on stage. Discover their rise to fame in the 1960s as the “Television Duo” who pioneered television skits in Singapore. Experience their film career which took off in Hong Kong during the 1970s with movies that reflected everyday aspirations of the man on the street. Finally, follow their return to Singapore in the 1980s and 1990s, where they continued to charm their audience and inspire future comedians.

Through Wang Sha and Ye Feng’s life stories and the display of cherished artefacts, this special exhibition celebrates their lives and careers, and pays tribute to the duo’s enduring impact on the entertainment scene in Singapore and the region.
