The 48th Hong Kong International Film Festival 2024｜HKIFF48 Introduction

The oldest film festivals in Asia

As one of the oldest film festivals in Asia, the global reputation of the HKIFF was built on the pioneering work of programming Asian films and its retrospectives when Asian and Hong Kong cinema were not well known to the international community. Built on a solid reputation for programming, the HKIFF became the model for many subsequent film festivals around the region.

The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) has named Karena Lam as the ambassador for the 48th edition of its festival (HKIFF48), which is scheduled from 28 March to 8 April 2024.⁣

Ticketing system: URBTIX

Remarks:

• For screenings at HK Cultural Centre / HK City Hall, tickets are available at the URBTIX outlets until one hour before the screenings, after which remaining tickets will be sold only at the door, subject to availability.
• For screenings at Emperor Cinemas iSQUARE / Emperor Cinemas Times Square / PREMIERE Elements, tickets are available at URBTIX till 5pm one day before the screenings, after which remaining tickets will be available only at the box office of the respective venue on the day of screening, subject to availability.
• For screenings at HK Arts Centre / M+ Cinema, tickets are available at URBTIX outlets until one hour before the screening, after which tickets are available at URBTIX website and mobile app. On-the-day tickets will also be available at the Self-service Ticketing Kiosk of the respective venue, subject to availability.

Stand-by Tickets for Sold-out Screenings

For sold-out screenings at HK Cultural Centre Grand Theatre and HK City Hall Theatre, a limited number of stand-by tickets are on sale 30 minutes prior to the screenings at the respective screening venues. Seating is subject to availability after admission of VIP Pass holders and all ticket holders. Each person can purchase up to 2 stand-by tickets per transaction.
