Get Up and (SLAM) Dance Solo Exhibition By Distort Monsters

13A New Street Art Gallery proudly present“ Get Up and (SLAM) Dance ” Solo Exhibition By Distort Monsters, showcasing over 21 pieces of artwork. Last year, the works of Distort Monsters received great acclaim from art collectors, so this winter, the adorable and whimsical little monsters are once again visiting the 13a New Street Art Gallery. Music and dance have always been inspirational, and combining them with visual art creates another kind of chemistry. The little monsters and 13A New Street Art Gallery invite everyone to embark on this rhythmic art journey, bringing the joyful melodies of art to the community. With Christmas approaching, come and play with the cute and lively little monsters. Each of the little monsters carries a vibrant expression and is accompanied by a uniquely styled appearance, creating an anticipation of the true nature of these whimsical creatures. The artist, Distort Monsters, once said that each little monster he creates represents a thought or a personal feeling from his mind, making each creation a small fragment of his life. Through his artwork, he captures those fleeting moments of inspiration, preserving the vitality of life within his pieces, so that the fireworks of that moment will not fade away in an instant.

Distort Monsters, an emotionally expressive artist from the Philippines, began his street art career in 2009. He embarked on his artistic journey by creating skateboard stickers, and during a significant period in between, he faced physical challenges, with art creation being his constant companion. Through the creation of these little monster characters, he liberates himself, rediscovering that inner tranquility and finding healing through art. Recently, he has created a series of artworks inspired by his own experiences, aiming to convey the message that reclaiming one's own life rhythm is a powerful act of release and healing. Even as you are being constantly squeezed by silence and melancholy, leaving you exhausted and unable to move forward, hold on to something reliable, and in stillness, you will hear the rhythm of life. As the tension of the rhythm breaks, you will be guided towards self-liberation. The shackles are unlocked, burdens disappear, and guided by intuition, your hands and feet find their own rhythm, naturally dancing and rediscovering the vitality of life.

Distort Monsters shows the playful feeling of a big boy with powerful lines and street graffiti style. Coupled with strong color contrast, it is very attractive to the audience. It is worth noting that some of the paintings are composed of three-dimensional dots and lines, highlighting the outline of the monster.
