- Welcome to Family Day at Tai Kwun Contemporary! For this event, presented by Tai Kwun Contemporary in collaboration with MUDWORK and Rooftop Institute in partnership with Wendy Tai, Pipilotti Rist’s artwork is the inspiration for a series of activities created by artists. Parents and children are encouraged to explore the body and moving images with activities that invigorate our senses and let us experience the world in a different way. This artist-led programme invites any child aged five or older and accompanied by a parent/guardian to participate.

About the Workshops:
Cloud-Shaped Stool Workshop
- Collaborating artist: MUDWORK
- Clouds often appear in children’s drawings, just as their amorphous forms can be easily imagined as different objects. MUDWORK invites parents and children to explore their close relationship and their bodies’ boundaries by drawing each other as clouds, and then turning their artwork into unique wooden stools. Workshop details:

Rhapsody of Light
- Collaborating partner and artist: Rooftop Institute and Wendy Tai
- What does the magic of our world look like through children’s eyes? How can parents avoid being judgmental and offering too much guidance so that they can explore imagination with their children? Artist Wendy Tai has designed a workshop to observe and discuss how Pipilotti Rist uses light and colour in her work to express diverse subject matter. She also invites parents and children to reconnect their senses with their surroundings by creating cycle wheels. Workshop details:

Entry arrangements:
- Parents are responsible for making sure their children follow gallery rules
- Please do not touch the exhibits
- No food or drinks are allowed inside the gallery
- No selfie sticks or tripods
- Visitor can store oversized luggage in the cloakroom during gallery opening hours
- Please place umbrellas at the umbrella rack by the gallery main entrance or store them in the cloakroom

A docent first introduced the exhibits, and then used the creative inspiration of Pippi Ledi. Rist to make his own small wooden bench. It is very interesting, adults and children have a lot of fun😃
Tai Kwun Family Day is always popular with parents and children. The workshops are diversified and children interact with each other.
It was a fun Tai Kwun Family Day. Friends of all ages could complete a piece of woodwork together. The children were so excited that they could use electric tools. The instructor also explained the method and process very clearly.
What a beautiful light and shadow effect, full of imagination, the child is rejoicing.

The workshop was led and explained by a special person, which allowed me to better understand the meaning of the exhibits themselves, and also allowed the children to freely use their creativity to complete their works!
What an interesting art exhibition. Children will be taken through the tour by the venue staff, and there will be extended activities to deepen their memory and have a good experience.
