Quiet environment. If you want to go up the mountain to watch the sunrise, it would be better to use this as a stopover to have enough food before setting off in the middle of the night.
Take the bus from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping and walk for about 15 minutes. When checking in, the YHA staff introduced nearby hiking trails. You can go up Mount Maitreya to enjoy the sunset. I hope you have the opportunity to see it next time. This time I stayed at the round tent camp. Although there was no air conditioning and only a fan, because it was located on a mountain, the temperature was very comfortable and I didn’t feel hot when I slept at night. Toilets and bathrooms need to be shared. It depends on personal acceptance. I personally can accept it. It is also very satisfying to bring your own stove and cook while chasing the moon at night.
Although the period has been changed several times due to renovations, the staff are friendly and everyone tries their best. In the end, they are satisfied with the service and the environment. It is estimated that the night will be freezing in mid-April, and the temperature difference between morning and evening is relatively large.
