What to expect
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park has been rated as a National 4A-level tourist attraction. The park is closely centered around marine culture and is divided into five themed areas: Mermaid Bay, Polar Town, Ice and Snow Kingdom, Undersea Wonderland, and Ocean Tribe. It features six star-studded shows: Walrus Theater - "Broadway Sea Lion Show," Orca Theater - "Orca Legend," Dolphin Theater - "Dolphin Romance," Iceberg Arctic Pavilion - "Beluga Love," and Volcano Shark Pavilion - "Mermaid Fairy Tale." There are also six major animal display venues: Antarctic Penguin Pavilion, Marine Animal Exploration Pavilion, Iceberg Arctic Pavilion, Underwater World Pavilion, Volcano Shark Pavilion, and Coral Jellyfish Pavilion, housing over 30,000 rare marine animals such as polar bears and emperor penguins. Additionally, it boasts ten amusement rides, including Volcano Rafting, Dolphin Roller Coaster, and Deep Sea Adventure. - All visitors' handbags, packages and other items carried with them are subject to park security checks upon entry, within the park, or at other locations deemed appropriate by the park. The park has the right to refuse any handbag, package, or other item to be brought into the park; the park has the right to properly handle all unattended items in the park.
- Items prohibited by national laws and regulations and items prohibited by the park for the sake of public safety of tourists and the health and safety of animals:
- a. Dangerous articles prescribed by laws and regulations (including but not limited to any kind of firearms, ammunition or offensive weapons and other flammable, explosive, harmful, and toxic articles, etc.);
- b. In order to ensure the safety of animals in the park, with the exception of baby food and a reasonable amount of drinking water for personal use, visitors are not allowed to bring other food and drinks;
- c. To ensure the health and safety of tourists, considering that take-out food may deteriorate due to improper storage conditions (such as high temperature, bumps), excessive delivery time, or food safety and hygiene problems caused by damaged packaging or contact with pollutants during the delivery process, the park prohibits bringing take-out food into the park;
- d. Wheeled transport and mobility devices, including but not limited to wheeled recreational equipment, skateboards, scooters, kick scooters, roller skates and shoes with wheels, wheeled and wheeled coolers, bicycles, tricycles, battery cars, electric scooters, two-wheeled vehicles, handcarts (except strollers and wheelchairs that can only be pushed from behind), RVs, children's camping carts, and trailer-like items (regardless of whether they are pushed, dragged, or towed by electric transport vehicles, wheelchairs, strollers, or manpower); Note: Manual wheelchairs, disabled persons' electric auxiliary mobility devices with no less than three wheels and a speed of no more than 16 kilometers per hour, and strollers with dimensions not exceeding 80 cm x 110 cm are excluded (including all accessories or expandable attachments fully unfolded).
- e. Knives (household knives, such as pocket knives, fruit knives, etc.); colored flags, gongs and drums, loudspeakers, remote control toys, banners, etc.;
- f. Bags exceeding 54 cm x 35 cm x 22 cm (20 inches), suitcases with child seats; other wheeled luggage may also be prohibited from entering the park during peak periods or other necessary circumstances.
