amazing experience! enjoyed the hiking. beautiful nature. we had sunny weather and breeze - perfect day. hiking shoes was great to have - some parts still have snow. the cable car gave a great view of the surrounding. monastery was beautiful and bread from the bakery was tasty.
The day before departure, you will receive a notification from the travel agency via email and WhatsApp, clearly informing you of the time and place of the gathering, and also providing a complete audio guide link. When you arrive at the destination, you will also be provided with an English guide to introduce the characteristics and features of the monastery. History. Unfortunately, the cable car going up the mountain that day was broken and there was no way to take it. However, the tour guide still tried his best to help arrange a jeep ride. Although it still took a while to climb and I had to walk down the mountain by myself, I felt a sense of accomplishment when I finished. During the process, the tour guide tried his best to confirm the status of the group members and also demonstrated sufficient crisis management capabilities.
The local travel agency that Klook works with is very good. Before departure, they will email photos of the bus, information about the driver and tour guide, and the precise location of the meeting point on Google Maps. Visiting the Seven Rila Lakes (most tourists complete the Five Lakes) and the Rila Monastery at the same time in one day, there is no need to worry about transportation problems. The tour guide is professional and responsible and provides sufficient information. It is highly recommended. Also reminded, the up and down cable cars on the Seven Rila Lakes are required for the trip, but the fee (30 leva for a round trip) will be charged by the on-site tour guide, and must be paid in local currency. If you sign up for the trip, remember to prepare it first.
Great experience. The guides are very professional. The itinerary is very compact. The Seven Rila Lakes are really beautiful.
Rila mountains look amazing at the top of the hike. We didn't climb to the top of the mountain and saw 5 out of the 7 lakes as it was not a full day hike. It was taxing for a city girl like me and the initial climb plus the walk down was a bit slippery with the loose rocks. However, our tour guides were amazing and no one was left behind. The view was definitely worth it and it's advisable to go with a guide. We had many photo op and the guides were patient with the whole group. This is highly recommended for a first timer hiking up Rila mountains.
Seven Lakes of Rila: There are two tour guides one after the other, which are very carefully arranged. At high altitudes, remember to wear a thick coat to keep warm. Rila Monastery: The tour guide will introduce you to the history of the monastery. It is quite worthwhile. It is much more interesting than looking at flowers by yourself. Recommended
The trip was nicely organized.
Our guide Yori is very professional by giving us a detail history of Rila Monastery and will give us time to explore ourselves. He's also good at leading a group of people who are with different physical fitness to hike for the Seven Rila Lakes though we can only visited 5 of them due to various physical fitness and time control. The tour is worth with money.
The tour guide was very experienced and helpful. Even though the lift to the Seven Lakes was broken in the morning, he calmly handled the situation. Thanks to him, we were able to see a wonderful view. The schedule change was made quickly, and after visiting the Rila Monastery, we returned to Sofia as planned. This is a recommended tour.
The bus was changed on the morning of the day, and I wandered around the bus at the meeting place, but I was able to get on the assigned bus without any problems. There is still snow in the 7 Lakes area, so I recommend trekking shoes as sneakers are slippery. The scenery is absolutely amazing. It's a shame that the lake is still frozen and I couldn't see the beautiful color of the water up close, but I enjoyed the snowy scenery. There were lots of purple flowers blooming and it was beautiful. The scenery of the surrounding mountains is also wonderful. At the Rila Monastery, we were able to take our time to see what we wanted to see on our own. We were also able to eat bread from the bakery. It costs 1 level to use the toilet, so I recommend that you prepare some coins.
