The Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel's buffet, "Steaming Hot All-You-Can-Eat Lobster, Unbeatable!" is the ultimate choice for a satisfying and abundant buffet. The food selection is rich and delicious, featuring both Chinese and Western dishes, and the buy-one-get-one-free price offers great value! However, because all the food options are incredibly tempting, even though I come here to enjoy the dinner buffet once or twice a month, I truly can't try everything! So, don't worry about the line for the "hot lobster" being longer than an army; many people, including myself, only eat half or one lobster. The reason is to save room for exploring all sorts of other delicious foods. You'll be surprised to find that soon "no one is queuing for lobster, because all the other delicacies are too good!" Also, the staff are polite and incredibly quick at clearing plates, true professional "plate-clearing specialists" – but they don't clear alien UFO "flying saucers." So, you definitely won't find any trace or information about the Hong Kong Marriott Hotel's "Pier Lounge & Bar" buffet's "generational plate-clearing specialists" in the recently declassified U.S. "UFO flying saucer files"! Haha!
The food was varied, abundant, and delicious, and the restaurant environment was comfortable and hygienic. The senior waitress, Miki, was professional, polite, and attentive. The waitstaff cleared plates quickly, and food replenishment was very fast! Guests were generally well-behaved and didn't rush for food. However, I hope parents will pay attention, as young children, unsupervised by adults, frequently dropped food on the floor. Fortunately, other guests notified the waitstaff, who quickly cleaned it up! There were also instances of children directly touching food with their hands and, unable to reach glass plates, breaking them all. This kind of behavior, when unsupervised by adults, is not fostering a child's "independence"; rather, it's a neglect of supervision that affects other diners and food hygiene! I hope parents will be "responsible" adults, and then the buffet experience will be pleasant for everyone. May blessings be immeasurable!
The main highlights are the steamed lobster and the cold seafood (mussels, shrimp, bread crab, clams, crab legs). The hot Chinese dishes are near the lobster station, mainly stir-fried seafood, with about 4-5 options. There's a sushi station (with sashimi like tuna and scallops), a BBQ station (with several soups), a tempura station, and a noodle station. The specific dishes available might vary daily. Special dishes include Peking duck and stewed soup, which seem to be available every day. Personally, I thought the stewed soup was quite good, but the Peking duck was just okay. The rest are desserts, and there are tons of them. Although the variety of dishes isn't extensive, there are still plenty of choices, and the food quality is high, with the seafood being quite fresh. The environment and atmosphere are good, but the restaurant gets pretty crowded; it was full on the day I visited. The service is also very good; plates are cleared super fast, though sometimes they'd clear my plate even if I stepped away and wasn't finished. The best part is that buying through Klook already includes the 10% service charge, so you don't have to pay extra while dining.
The Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel buffet was deeply appealing from the moment I saw the dessert section at 6 pm. There were so many options, constantly refilled, and every dessert was delicious. The blue cloud cake is a salted egg cheese cake, visually stunning. The subtle saltiness and smooth, rich cheese were unforgettable. The matcha red bean warabi mochi was perfectly sweet and super QQ. It's the best matcha warabi mochi I've had in Hong Kong, even better than the ones at Sogo. The steamed blue Australian lobster was meaty, fresh, and delicious, and could be paired with several sauces: black bean sauce, Tom Yum curry sauce, or cheese sauce. I tried it with the cheese sauce and the Tom Yum curry sauce. I thought the Tom Yum curry sauce was very special, elevating the lobster flavor and leaving me wanting more. The soup of the day was Jinhua ham and fish maw with conch, made with quality ingredients, perfect for autumn. The Thai barbecue was cooked to order and very juicy. Food taste: 10 points Experience: 10 points, worth an encore Service: 10 points, the staff was very nice and cleared plates quickly Restaurant environment: 10 points, very spacious Price: 10 points, because I used the Klook buy-2-get-1-free deal, the value was extremely high.
The front desk staff cannot miss the day when the guest reserved a table to celebrate! Especially the small birthday cake that has been reserved for taking photos with family and friends should not completely "disappear"! Normally, you should use Whatapps to contact the guest one or two days before the reservation date to verify the number of people and needs. I don’t understand why the middle-aged female waitress with glasses at the front desk lied to me because I patronized the buffet every month. She would assign the table number to the regular customer according to the caller ID. But on the birthday, she said that there was no table reserved! Even if I tried to sit back at the reserved table, I was notified that the reserved birthday cake was not delivered and was given to the guest who notified the birthday on the same day! I had to try again to make up for it! The service quality of this middle-aged female waitress with glasses at the front desk is not as good as that of the female receptionist at the front desk of an ordinary restaurant! I remember the buffet on the night of the Lunar New Year's Eve this year. I was so excited to have a rich and happy family reunion dinner with my family. When I went to the restaurant front desk that day, I saw this low-quality waitress. When she heard me talking about the reservation phone number, she didn't even look at me and told me to go to the front desk counter to enter the phone number on the computer. I was very surprised that when I told her the contact number, she was busy looking at her computer, and then she said in a rough voice: "Go in and enter the phone number yourself!" Her behavior was very rude and rude! After questioning, it turned out that she thought I was a temporary worker in the restaurant, which was outrageous! Her poor service attitude will definitely affect the image of the entire Bayfront Restaurant and the Ocean Park Marriott Hotel! I sincerely ask the Marriott Hotel management to train more staff to improve their work! Thank you!
Dinner buffet is always very good. The highlights are unlimited supply of steam lobster and super generous portion of fresh and high grade sashimi. Their Chinese soup in pot and Peking duck are very good too. Can't miss the dessert and ice cream booth. But no foie gras and steam abalone for this seasons is a bit disappointing.
it’s a good hotel buffet experience. except the fact that the location is slightly remote. it’s next to the ocean park. the Peking duck, steamed lobster, various abalone dishes and desserts are all good made.
Excellent hospitality and food, all at a great value! The food standard and quality remain stable. The improvement is due to my frequent patronage. I found that the male and female tempura chefs had an attitude of bullying customers. They often delayed serving the tempura from 6:30 onwards and only started frying at around 6:40. The buffet had already started but there was no fried food on the two plates! They only fry vegetables and are not willing to fry seafood. Even if they finally fry only 6 pieces of seafood, they will look at their faces if the customer takes more than one! It's very rude to glare at the guests with dissatisfaction! A buffet for 200 people at a 5-star Marriott hotel, the chefs delayed frying the tempura and the quantity was not enough for the guests to take, and the quality of the noodles was very poor and very thick! Unexpectedly, the two chefs, a male and a female, behaved rudely and bullied customers every time. Their actions clearly showed that they were bullying customers by giving them a cold look and speaking impolitely. Their behavior was shameful and of very low quality! It is far inferior to the very polite noodle, stew and Peking duck chefs who put the guests first! I hope the hotel will pay attention to strengthening training.
As usual, enjoyed my dinner at Ocean Park Marriott Marina cafe. it has good food but lack varieties. Atmosphere was great. Resevation on Klook was quick and simple too. overall great and pleasant night out.
So much lobster "water", so much lobster "water", so much lobster "water"! (Tell important things three times) Steamed lobster...there's really a lot of water! At the buffet on the night of October 8th, it was strange that the plates of every diner who took half a lobster were filled with the seafood water in the lobster after steaming the lobster! This situation is really strange to me who often eats buffet dinner here! Normally, when the chef chops the lobster, the juice will come out lightly, but because the juice flies horizontally, there is a rubber plate to prevent the juice from hitting the diners. Then the chef will take out the internal organs of the lobster and pour out the remaining juice before serving the lobster. It was served to the guests, who poured their favorite sauce on the dried lobsters. Chef Gao, who has been focusing on this lobster stall for a long time, was uncharacteristically uncharacteristic on the night of October 8th. He actually directly steamed the freshly cooked lobsters every time he served them to any diners. The lobster, which was then full of juice and water, fell onto the diner's plate with the water on it, making the entire plate full of juice and oil. Not only did it become difficult for the diner to use the plate to take other food, but the depth of the plate was too shallow, and the lobster juice and oil were easily lost. The oil kept flowing onto clothes and pants. At that time, there were many guests walking together, and a lot of juice on the plates flowed on the floor. It was very dangerous for other guests to slip and fall if they were not careful! This irresponsible chef was even more responsible for the fact that after a fat young diner got half a lobster and asked him to get another half immediately, the chef actually threw the half lobster full of juice onto the male customer's plate. Go on, causing the juice to splash everywhere and the guests are very embarrassed! I hope the hotel will re-watch the CCTV that night and tell the lobster chef that his behavior is very undesirable because he treated the half-chopped lobster in this way all night long. I hope the hotel will investigate the irresponsible chef's behavior and don't want an accident to happen to Marriott. There is no loss for the hotel or patronage diners! Thanks!
