Vietnamese Cooking Class & Bamboo Basket Boat Experience

July is the rainy season, but luckily it didn't rain on the day we booked; it was even a bit sunny. When we arrived, we waited a short while before two women came in a boat to pick us up. Perhaps there weren't many guests, as it felt like a traditional fishing demonstration was skipped. The women just rowed us to the fishing nets, pulled them up for us to see, then sang a song, followed by a bamboo basket boat performance. After that, we made Vietnamese spring rolls. The portion was quite generous, and we felt full after just a few pieces. Both children and adults could participate. The whole process lasted about an hour, ending quite quickly. It felt a bit too short.

Actually, I signed up for this experience for the cooking class, but the basket boat ride was also impressive! The boat ride was relaxing and peaceful the whole time, with various activities, and most importantly, the staff spoke Korean exceptionally well. The cooking class was fun because I got to make Vietnamese dishes myself, and it wasn't difficult at all. While eating what we made, they chatted with us, and even though they struggled with English, we had a very enjoyable conversation using translation apps! The atmosphere was comfortable and truly healing! If you're looking for this kind of relaxation in Phu Quoc, in addition to activities, I highly recommend it!

I had a fantastic and interesting time with the Vietnamese cooking class and bamboo basket boat experience in Phu Quoc! The Vietnamese cooking class taught me how to make authentic Vietnamese dishes, which was very practical and delicious. I learned so many new things. The instructor was very friendly, explained everything clearly, and even shared many secret tips. Afterward, I went on the bamboo basket boat ride, which was fun and exciting. Sitting in the bamboo basket, slowly drifting on the sea, and gazing at the blue sky and clear waters was incredibly relaxing. The Vietnamese people in Phu Quoc were quite amusing, very warm, and humorous, which made me feel very welcome. The service was truly top-notch; the staff were very attentive and arranged everything perfectly for us, making us feel very cared for. Overall, these two activities were the highlights of my trip. I learned new things and was able to relax, so they are definitely worth trying! If you're planning a trip to Phu Quoc and want to experience authentic Vietnamese culture, you absolutely cannot miss these two!
