Jing Din Rou (Xiao Long Bao Famous Restaurant) - MRT Zhongshan Station

The soup dumplings at Jing Ding Lou are comparable in quality to Din Tai Fung, with a wide variety and great taste. The soup dumplings with thin skin and lots of red bean paste are especially good, with just the right amount of sweetness. The stir-fried vegetables are also excellent, but the fried rice is a bit salty. The Zhongshan branch is easy to find and has good service. Many Japanese tourists frequent this restaurant. Fortunately, we arrived early, otherwise we would have had to wait in line.

It was very delicious. Its proximity to the station also makes it very convenient to get to. I was able to try many different kinds of soup dumplings.

The steamed dumplings are delicious. If the fish steamed dumplings had a bit more ginger or pepper to remove the fishy taste, they would be even better. As for the main attraction, the soup dumplings... they're just... okay... you wouldn't be missing out if you didn't try them.

Thank you for your kind assistance despite my frequent schedule changes. The course overall was good, but the Oolong tea xiao long bao was bitter, and the mala xiao long bao was so spicy that I gave up after one. The fried rice and hot and sour soup that I took home were delicious. Next time, I think it would be better to order exactly what I want.

Knowing it's a popular restaurant, I went expecting to wait a little even with a reservation. When I showed my voucher, I was told to get in line, so I went to the back. We weren't called for a long time, so I checked with the staff occasionally, but we ended up waiting 90 minutes. Around the 60-minute mark, I wanted to go to another restaurant, but since I had already paid, I had no choice but to keep waiting. I wish they had called us after waiting 40 minutes at most.
