What to expect

  • "A Re Niu" takes the heaven, earth, mountains, and rivers of Xichang Torch Plaza as its stage, using the five natural elements of "Eagle, Water, Fire, Mountain, Year" to connect the Yi people's thousand-year civilization, melting intangible cultural heritage and modern technology into one, becoming a vivid window to understand the spirit of the Greater Liang Mountains. "A Re Niu" was originally the name of an Yi love song (meaning "little cousin"), and has now been sublimated into a cultural symbol carrying national feelings, telling the legend of life and love under the stars.
  • With the Torch Plaza A Re Niu Folk Village as the real-life stage, the mountains as the background, and the starry sky as the dome, it breaks the spatial boundaries of traditional theaters, allowing the audience to immersively integrate into the life scenes of the Yi people.
  • Through the love story of young men and women, it not only shows the struggle of free love against traditional arranged marriages, but also spreads out the historical migration, folk customs, rituals, and natural philosophy of the Yi people, which can be called a "living encyclopedia of Yi culture."
  • With the ultimate special effects of "water and fire blending" and original ecological performances, it is known as the "No. 1 Fire Show in China", which is a symbolic project of the Xichang Torch Festival and a bright business card of Liangshan culture and tourism.
  • From the eagle totem to the carnival of fire, "A Re Niu" uses a visual feast to allow the audience to understand the core of the Yi culture's "awe of nature and love of life". Whether it is the enthusiastic atmosphere of the Torch Festival or the weekday star theater, this "deep dialogue with the Greater Liang Mountains" is worth experiencing.

Good to know

  • The first 3 rows in front of the stage are the "firework core area". Special effects such as 3-meter-high fire walls and flowing "digital fire rivers" are presented at close range. Although there is safety protection, it is recommended that the elderly, children, and those with respiratory sensitivity choose seats behind row 5. In the event of a sudden splash of fireworks, do not panic and stand up, you can lower your head and cover your face with clothing.
  • It is strictly forbidden to throw any objects (including glow sticks and snack packaging) onto the stage. The fireworks equipment will generate high temperatures during operation, and throwing objects may cause fire hazards.
  • It is recommended to wear flame-retardant materials such as pure cotton and linen, and avoid wearing flammable fabrics such as chemical fibers and nylon; women with long hair need to tie up their hair to prevent accidental entanglement in the equipment or ignition by Mars; do not wear open-toe shoes (there may be scattered firework debris on the ground)
  • Do not bring lighters, power banks (over 20000mAh) and other flammable and explosive materials into the venue
  • It is forbidden to eat pork in the theater (some branches of the Yi people have dietary taboos). You can bring mineral water but keep the venue clean; do not touch the eagle feather costumes, moon guitars and other props on the stage at will. They are all personal belongings of the actors or intangible cultural heritage relics.
  • For the "Fire Sacrifice Prayer and Carnival Night" activity, you need to collect the safety torches provided by the scenic spot (self-provided ones are prohibited), dance to the rhythm of the Datta dance, and pay attention to maintaining a distance of 1 meter from others to avoid collisions with the torches.
