Huangshan Scenic Area

Huangshan Scenic Area is located in Tangkou Town, Huangshan District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. It is famous for its "four wonders": oddly-shaped pines, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds, and hot springs. It also boasts stunning scenery such as rime ice, snowscapes, and sunrises. It is known as, "After visiting the Five Great Mountains, no other mountains are worth seeing; after visiting Huangshan, the Five Great Mountains are not worth seeing." The scenic area has three entrances: South, West, and North. Most visitors enter through the South Gate, Tangkou Town, and take the Xin Guoxian bus to the Front Mountain (Ciguang Pavilion) or the Back Mountain (Yungusi Temple). The main sightseeing routes are divided into three parts: the Front Mountain, the Back Mountain, and the West Sea Grand Canyon. The Front Mountain has magnificent scenery, with famous attractions such as the Welcoming Pine, Lotus Peak, and Tiandu Peak. The Back Mountain is beautiful and exquisite, with amazing scenery such as Starting-to-Believe Peak, Flying-over Rock, and Monkey Gazing at the Sea. The West Sea Grand Canyon is secluded and spectacular, and is known as the essence of Huangshan. The regular route is mostly a two-day tour, and you can choose to go up the Front Mountain and down the Back Mountain, or up the Back Mountain and down the Front Mountain. For a one-day tour, it is recommended to take the cable car for a round trip. Accommodation on the summit is concentrated in areas such as Guangmingding, Tianhai, Paiyunlou, and Baie Ridge. Guangmingding is suitable for watching the sunrise and is a popular choice for sightseeing and accommodation.
