One of our favourite parks we visited on our Japan trip. Absolutely stunning, and features unique architecture, a small bamboo forrest, turtles, and lots of koi fish. We visited in April 2026 in peak cherry blossom season - highly recommend.

You can’t skip the queue with this ticket as you still need to swap it with a regular ticket at the counter. Otherwise, pretty good. Managed to see plum and cherry blossoms

This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful locations to visit in the whole of the city. Admission is incredibly cheap and you can easily spend several hours here walking around and relaxing by the pond. if you are in Hiroshima, this needs to be on your visit list.

Beautiful! A gorgeous landscape with ancient trees that survived the atomic bomb! There's a very moving memorial on the site where, in 1987, the remains of 65 people who disappeared in the 1945 explosion were found. Highly recommended.

Originally constructed in 1620 (Genna 6), Shukkeien Garden has endured significant damage over the centuries, including from a major fire during the Edo period and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Each time, however, it was restored, and in 2020, the garden celebrated its 400th anniversary.

Located in the heart of Hiroshima City, Shukkeien has been carefully refined by successive feudal lords and has largely taken on the appearance we see today. Surrounded by the modern cityscape, the garden offers seasonal beauty throughout the year and is cherished as a peaceful retreat by visitors from both within and outside Hiroshima Prefecture.
