Taipei Departure: Yangmingshan Car Rental with Driver to Small Oil Pit/Bamboo Lake/Hot Spring Valley

My wife and I booked this tour for our last day in Taiwan so scheduling and timing our stops was important so we get to the airport in time. So we were blessed to have such a great driver and guide with sir Alan Lin!

Our driver Mr Kurt Chu arrived earlier than expected. He contacted us one day before our tour to confirm the places we want to visit. He even suggested what dates feasible for the flower show in Shilin Garden. The car was clean and had good airconditioning. It is convenient to book a private car whenever you had seniors traveling with you. Yamingshan is a bit far from taipei city so we enjoyed the tour without having to worry on which bus available at the area. Will definitely avail this kind of tour again in the future !

We opt for customised tour and choose certain locations to visit. Our tour operator Mr Kevin is very knowledgeable and brought us to different locations around Yangmingshan. We also told him we are prone to motion sickness and he drove smoothly and expertly around the terrain. It was unfortunate that some locations are foggy in December but we still enjoyed the trip especially when we got to Floral Clock area.

Transport was a yellow taxi for 4 pax, driver was quiet initially and he recommended 2 restaurants for lunch options. To be honest, I was worried that he would be pushing some sales package or sorts. Thankfully as the day goes on, driver turns out to be a nice man who simply needs a bit more time to warm up, love the fact that he even took water for us to bubble our mini hot spring at Little Oil Pit for perfect photo op! He also recommended good spots to visit for our remaining days in Taipei! By the way, the lunch spot he recommended was really awesome, we spent about SGD$90 for 6 or 7 dishes which included herbal chicken soup pot! 👍👍👍👍👍 Our driver even felt bad that our day ended early and wanted to drop us at nearby night market instead of the hotel. Thou we rejected the arrangement, the suggestion was much appreciated. Now this is the true hospitality of Taiwanese which they are renowned for!

Our driver Stephen was so patient, kind and helpful. His driving was smooth and safe. He was pro active and has excellent english. He was easy communicating with. We had a great time travelling uphill in spite of the bad weather. He has everything we needed during our trip. He provided us bottled water, tissue paper and umbrellas. Excellent Job! Also I want to special mention, the Moon Moon Food Restaurant in Beitou Park where Stephen brought us was amazing. Food was really delicious and very affordable. Though we were not able to explore the Yangmingshan National Park due to the bad weather, we still appreciated the beauty of the place. Wish we can go back there some other time during spring time.

Very friendly driver that brings us around to many local only know places. It was foggy during the trip so the driver bring us to other places that have better scenery view. Itinerary is very flexible. You can inform the driver where you would want to visit and they will arrange.

We availed this service last March 27 and it was great! Our driver Kurt was great, he was not fluent in english but he did his best in conversing with us throughout the trip. We went when it was pretty cloudy so it was a bit cold but the view and experience was still great! It was still spring time so we were still able to see the cherry blossoms when we went to the flower clock in Beitou. For those who plan on collecting stamps as a souvenir for their trip, you can easily find them by the information or visitors center. We will definitely book again when we come back to Taiwan.

James was very professional and knowledgeable of the routes he was covering. Told us stories and background of the places we visited. He was very humorous too. The kind of driver I will engage again when I revisit Taipei.

The driver will contact you the day before your set date, using the info you provided on the booking. You can talk with the driver on the pick-up and drop-off place if you want to change it (not necessarily what you specified at the klook booking). We chose route D. We visited during winter (December) so the sakura trees were bare at the flower clock location, but there were plum flowers. The fog was beginning to set in when we arrived at Xiaoyoukeng and was really thick when we left. There is a cafe and souvenir shop at xiaoyoukeng where the ginger tea and mushroom rice burger is very good. We were not able to visit lengshuikeng due to the fog, which is unfortunate. The fog was also very thick at Qingtiangang grassland and it was also drizzling so we weren’t able to appreciate the views. Luckily some buffalo were resting near the fence. The driver was very nice, cheerful and energetic. He drives smoothly and safely. His car was very clean and comfortable as well.

Stephen (彭先生) was a great driver and a knowledgeable tour guide. Very polite, attentive, and took great photos for us!! Unfortunately the day I went to Yangmingshan (Nov 2022) was very hazy. Overall it’s still a wonderful experience and can’t recommend him enough!
