It was a fun experience as we got to see their local markets, how they buy their groceries. We also asked about coffee and our guide went out of her way to help us. The cooking class itself was interesting. We exchanged ideas about cooking and life in Vietnam in general.
Starting with a stroll through the market, this is a hands-on cooking class where everyone works together to prepare five dishes. It wasn't a tourist-oriented setup designed for "Instagrammable" photos, but rather a warm, homey atmosphere, like visiting a Vietnamese family and learning to cook from a friendly local girl. The vibe was less like a strict culinary school for professionals and more about having fun learning to make authentic Vietnamese home cooking, so you could participate without feeling any pressure. Unlike some classes where you just "finish pre-prepared ingredients (like a 3-minute cooking show)," it was great that we truly made everything we were going to eat ourselves. There was also a strong emphasis on hygiene; the cutting boards and knives used for raw pork were thoroughly washed after each use, which was reassuring (the restrooms were also perfectly usable). While some countries have very strict cooking classes, I felt that this warm and relaxed atmosphere was a unique charm of Vietnam. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to enjoy local daily life while also having a substantial cooking experience.
went on a cooking class and found this on klook and they dont have minimum requirement for people who wants to join and its the best thing since I’m the only one in my family who wants this so this is suitable for me and BLUE is there to help me and guide me and she’s so friendly and they have this home vibe which is really good! thank you! instructor: blue #goodfood
We had a wonderful cooking lesson with Lily and Hei! It was so fun to see the fruits, vegetables and meats in the market, and they explained all the different choices to us. the cooking school was a short walk from the market. I couldn’t believe that we were able to cook pho, meatballs, mango salad and also spring rolls in just 3 1/2 hours. everything was delicious and we had extra food leftover that we took home. It was a perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon in Da Nang! We were a group of 7 including a grandma and two college students. everyone loved it. expect lots of chopping!
One of the best ways to experience Vietnamese culture is to learn how to prepare their dishes and this gave us just that and more! Loved the part where our instructor, Blue, took us around the local market to buy the ingredients. Learned about the type of mango used particularly for salads, and different noodle types. Blue taught us to first make salt coffee (so we stay awake during class - clever and funny) then we started preparing the broth for the pho since it was the longest to make. My fave for this class is the Bun Cha! It’s a great experience and highly recommended for all visitors in Da Nang.
We had a great time there, It was an unforgettable experience. The entire process was in English and The girls English was absolutely good:) Everyone in our family loved the program. It was great that we learnt how the locals pick their ingredients for their food in the market. Our instructor had explained everything perfectly in details. They answered every question we asked.I am very glad we booked this program, it really worth to try it out :)
We had a great time with our tutor Lily. Despite we cannot join the wet market tour due to bad weather condition, we spent more time in the kitchen with Lily. Lily was very patient to our parents and made them laugh a lot. All the dishes tasted delicious and they are dishes that you can cook at home. We recommend this activity to everyone visiting Da Neng!
I had an excellent cooking class! I was the only one there, and I don't speak English, but the girl was wonderful. She explained everything through Google Translate. Since I was the only one in the morning, I asked to substitute some of the dishes. We made pho bo, bun cha, Vietnamese salted coffee, and egg coffee – everything was delicious and served with a smile. We went to the nearby market to buy ingredients and then went to cook! It was my best experience. I booked through the Klook app, which I highly recommend. I took a taxi there myself for 27,000 VND. They gave me a certificate and a recipe book! I highly recommend it to everyone.
Using WhatsApp is the most convenient way to connect. From the initial walk to the market to buy food, you can see the different purchasing habits of each country. The entire process is in English, so if you need Chinese service, it may be better to have a translator, otherwise you won't know the details of making the food. The content is not difficult to make, it is cooked with a portable gas stove, and there is not much overall time or smoke, so it is actually very suitable to try at home. If there is too much special equipment, you won't cook it at home! It is recommended to provide picture cards to explain the ingredients and history, using a simple presentation or printing can make people more clear. The instructors are very kind and lovely. Vietnam is truly a country that can represent the power of women.
Blue was a warm and engaging tutor, gave me a fantastic insight into Vietnamese culture and cuisine. She took me to the local market, showing the locals shop and eat, which made the experience even more authentic. The dishes we cooked were absolutely delicious! The pho was the best I’ve had in Vietnam! Highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Da Nang!
