【✨Highlights of the Itinerary】 ⛰️ Riyue Mountain Riyue Mountain is a highly symbolic geographical and cultural landmark in Qinghai Province. It spans the eastern part of Qinghai Province, with an average altitude of about 4000 meters, belonging to a branch of the Qilian Mountains. Its most important significance lies in being a clear natural and cultural dividing line: it is not only the boundary between China’s monsoon and non-monsoon regions, the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, but also the intersection of agricultural and nomadic civilizations.
💎 Chaka Salt Lake Chaka Salt Lake is located in Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It is a famous natural crystallized salt lake, known as the “Mirror of the Sky.” The lake surface is like a giant mirror, perfectly reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, distant mountains, and human figures. Especially on clear, windless days, the scenery is ethereal and dreamlike, making it a paradise for photographers.
🌊 Qinghai Lake (Qinghai Lake Erlangjian Scenic Area entrance ticket is not included and needs to be paid separately, CNY90 per person; boat entry and car exit transportation fee is CNY140 per person, needs to be paid separately) Qinghai Lake, called “Tso Ngonpo” in Tibetan, meaning “blue sea,” is located in the northeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is China’s largest inland saltwater lake. It was formed by fault subsidence, has a circumference of about 360 kilometers, and the lake surface is about 3195 meters above sea level. Qinghai Lake has extremely high ecological value, serving as an important stopover for migratory birds and an internationally important wetland. Every spring and summer, tens of thousands of migratory birds (such as bar-headed geese, gulls, and cormorants) breed and thrive here, presenting a spectacular sight.

I received excellent service and a prompt response. The driver planned the day with three main stops, spending the bulk of the time at Chaka Salt Lake in the afternoon and ensuring I stayed until nearly sunset time —the ideal time for photography. The long drive was comfortable thanks to the great car, and the driver used a translator app to provide helpful guidance at every stop.
It was a good experience, and I'm pleased. The language barrier was present, but it was nice having university students who know a little English, which I considered lucky. The first two attractions were definitely enjoyable, and it remained very good until the very end; I had a great time. I can understand some Chinese, but the accent was quite strong; however, it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment. I truly appreciate the arrangements.
A small group tour of 8 people was just right, and the pick-up and drop-off service was very considerate. The driver drove very steadily and also controlled the itinerary time. Although he didn't talk much, he was happy to help buy tickets and was patient with foreigners. It's also okay to participate in this itinerary alone! Except that the time to stay at the attractions was a bit rushed due to the distance, it was generally a very good trip.
Everything was very well organized since the first moment. I cant speak Chinese but the guide and some other friendly people on the tour helped a LOT with translating the important things. I really recommend it! Loved every place we visited.
There was no tour guide, only a driver for transportation, so we missed out on explanations of the attractions. The weather wasn't great, and we didn't see very beautiful scenery. We also didn't get to see the 'Sky Mirror' effect at the salt lake.
The tour guide was very helpful and used translation software to communicate with us. To enter the Chaka Salt Lake, you need to have a staff member at the ticket gate enter the 14-digit number located at the top of the ticket image sent to your mobile phone.

⏰ Schedule: Group tours usually depart around 6 AM and end around 10 PM, dropping you back at your hotel or the original pick-up point. We will inform you of the exact meeting time again the day before your trip. Please arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
⛰️ Qinghai Lake is located at an altitude of about 3200-3500 meters, and the UV radiation is strong. This trip involves a relatively long journey, so tourists should be mentally prepared for a long journey while enjoying the beautiful scenery of western China. Qinghai has a high altitude, so please bring medication for altitude sickness, as well as oxygen cylinders or bags.
🎒 Travel Essentials: Raincoat or umbrella, sports shoes, cold medicine, stomach medicine, insect repellent plaster, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, etc.
💊 Common Medications: Qinghai is a plateau region, so please prepare anti-altitude sickness medication in advance. Additionally, the temperature difference in Qinghai is significant, and the distances between scenic spots are long, so please prepare common medications such as cold medicine, motion sickness medicine, and band-aids.
👕 Common Items: Qinghai has large temperature differences, strong UV radiation, and changeable weather. Please prepare clothing, an umbrella, sunscreen, etc., as appropriate. Brightly colored clothes make for better photos!
