The Ximen Red House was completed in 1908. It has witnessed the Japanese colonial period, the Taipei Grand Air Raid, the arrival of the Nationalist government in Taiwan, the Red House's closure, and its rebirth in 2024. For over 100 years, the Ximen Red House has been a landmark of Taiwanese culture.
The regular performances of the "Ximen Red House Immersive Theater" will take audiences on a journey through time, exploring the century-old history and changes of Ximending, while also enjoying famous snacks such as mugwort cakes (草仔粿), Red House pancakes (紅樓煎餅), zongzi (肉粽), red bean cakes (紅豆餅), braised dishes (滷味), large pancakes (大餅), and sweet potato balls (地瓜球)...

A very special stage play with both entertainment and food. There's a lot of food, and the actors come down from the stage to hand out meals. You can also take photos after the show. It's a really great experience.

Feeling very full, the surroundings seem interesting.
The actors were all fantastic. I brought my daughter to see this show, and we both learned a lot about the history of the Red House Theater in Ximen. The included snacks were all famous Taipei delicacies, making it great value for the price. I'm very happy.
