Begin your adventure with a pickup between 3:30–4:00 am from your hotel or meeting point. After a 2-hour drive to Cusipata, enjoy a tasty breakfast and get ready for your trek.
The hike to Rainbow Mountain spans 3.5 km (2.1 miles) and starts with an uphill climb, offering a mix of flat sections and gentle rises. At 5,220 meters (17,125 feet), you'll be rewarded with stunning views of Ausangate, Rainbow Mountain, and local wildlife like llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas.
Optionally, explore the nearby Red Valley on your return before heading back to Cusipata for a delicious lunch. Conclude your journey in Cusco around 4:00–5:00 pm near the Plaza de Armas.
