What to expect
Activity Introduction Hi everyone, I’m Mike, your Eatwith host in Shanghai. I have extensive experience working in kitchens, but because I enjoy interacting with people, I always felt it wasn’t enough in the kitchen. Later, I left the kitchen where I had worked for over a decade and opened my own culinary studio, hoping to promote authentic Chinese cuisine to more international guests. So, we not only have Xiaolongbao, but also many must-try traditional delicacies such as Zongzi, fancy steamed dumplings, spring roll making, as well as Shanghai and Huaiyang cuisine cooking classes. I hope you will like it.
Experience Introduction We have all eaten soup-filled Xiaolongbao with a bag of rich soup. It is very popular in the Jiangnan area, such as Suzhou soup dumplings, Jingjiang soup dumplings, etc. First, sip a bag of warm and delicious soup, and the delicious meat filling has always made me unforgettable, but how exactly is such a small and exquisite soup dumpling made? This skill sounds easy, and it seems easy to watch the teacher make it, but it’s another matter when it comes to your own hands.
In this class, we will knead the dough by hand, roll the wrappers by hand, learn how to mix the meat filling, and reveal the big secret of how there is soup in Xiaolongbao.
I will show you how to steam and pan-fry soup dumplings. That is to say, in this class, we will also learn how to make a surprise dish!
I will also tell you how to make a dipping sauce that matches Xiaolongbao.
When all of this comes to an end, we will sit down together and share the Xiaolongbao we made ourselves.
