It is very convenient to buy tickets online in advance. You can go to the City Hall (open at 08:00) or choose to go to several nearby co-operating museums (open at 10:00) to exchange for physical tickets. The counter staff will help you fill in the card opening time. During this period, you can take unlimited city buses and visit multiple museums for free. It is definitely worth buying.

You can use the entire bus networks & go in some museums for free. there are a list of museums where you can receive your City card by showing them your web-ticket you receive per e-mail & just show it to the bus driver

It's worth it! You can take a bus and then walk a short distance (about 15 minutes) to Sky Lagoon to save on shuttle fees. Also, many museums in Iceland are small and beautiful. If you visit them one by one and buy tickets, it's not very cost-effective. The City Card is great value if you use it to its full potential, combining it with buses, a bit of walking, and focusing on key attractions. You'll still have time to go to a public hot spring (currently there are eight free ones; Vesturbajarlaug near the University of Iceland is recommended). This way, you can achieve both a local living experience with a day at a city hot spring and a luxurious, tranquil experience at Sky Lagoon in one trip. The only thing to be aware of is the pick-up of the City Card (City Hall is open from 8 am to 4 pm; be mindful of the hours, or you can go to several museums instead; currently in February, most open from 10 am to 5 pm). Also, pay attention to the activation time (the bus cannot activate the card; staff at City Hall or a museum need to write the validity period on it for you).

The voucher needs to be redeemed at City Hall. This card can go to several museums (most museums open at 10 o'clock, but close at 5 p.m.), geothermal swimming pools, & unlimited bus rides without paying on the bus (only Iceland is charged, but the redemption points are very fast, so there is no problem. Purchase , evaluate your needs.

The process of collecting the City Card at City Hall went smoothly, but City Hall closes at 4 o'clock, so if you want to collect it, you need to come early.

You first need to exchange your pass at one of the listed locations before using it. This process is very smooth, quick, and efficient. We were able to visit three museums, take the bus all day, and finish up at one of the municipal swimming pools. Awesome!
