Alishan Mianyue Line Hiking Day Tour in Chiayi

One of the reasons I really wanted to visit Alishan was because I was told I'd actually been here before—as a toddler! Mom and Dad came up here to watch the sunrise when I was just two years old. So coming back as an adult felt like a full circle moment. Had such an awesome time hiking the Alishan Mianyue Line! The views were absolutely stunning, and the route was packed with history—bridges, tunnels, magic forest… all of it! Big thanks to the team for making everything smooth and fun. This time walking on the Mian Yue line is really great! The scenery along the way is magnificent and full of history. The bridges, tunnels, and forest trails are all very impressive. The scenery is beautiful. Fortunately, the weather was very good that day. There was no rain or white walls. Although the guide walked very quickly, I can understand the reason. I recommend that everyone go for a walk if you have the opportunity.

The scenery is super beautiful and it is worth visiting once in a lifetime. Taking pictures on the railway is also very beautiful. It takes some physical strength to keep exercising and walk back and forth.

Fortunately, we gathered early to set off, and it started to rain only when we arrived on the return trip. The whole process was safety-oriented, and there were also some short stories and knowledge. The whole trip was very enjoyable. It is recommended to bring a neck pillow, which will make it easier to sleep on the bus.

The Mianyue Line climbs the collapsed rail cliff. This level is dangerous. Climb over it and back again. Because the hip joint of my left foot cannot climb at a normal large angle, fortunately the guide watched me throughout the whole process. He grabbed my feet with his hands below me and guided me step by step to the climbing point. Next, my headlamp ran out of power on the way back. Fortunately, a teammate walked behind me to help me with lighting. 😂It was only after I returned that I thought, didn’t I bring a spare flashlight? 😂 There is also Bridge No. 19. The guide said that this was the bridge where he fell to death last time. Because that person was traveling alone without teammates, he fell. He was not rescued in time and died of hypothermia.

It was my first time to have a guide for mountain hiking and I felt at ease. The scenery was beautiful and soothing. Most of the paths were gentle and easy to walk on. It was a great experience.
