The guests in the Elephant reside in a unparalleled landscape. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel you can find the Neustift Cloister, castles and fortresses, ancient mansions, vineyards and orchards, glorious mountain-ranges such as the Aferer Geisler, the expansive area of the Plose with its many hiking and skiing facilities, not to mention the Eisack valley and its adjacent valleys. A Stay at the hotel offers a unique blend of culture and natural surroundings at all the year. The hotel park is a green oasis just minutes from the city centre, beautifully landscaped; the park is an ideal place to stroll under shady pines and ornamental broadleafs. Gravel paths invite for walks around the park, passing by rose beds, trellised fruit gardens and decorative fountains. The clay two tennis courts are open from April through October. The restaurant has a traditional, old-world charm and its handsome paneling creates a cozy atmosphere. The three dining rooms--the Altdeutsche Stube, the Apostelstube and the Zirbelstube--provide the perfect setting for gracious dining. The hotel offers 3 types of guestrooms, all with bath, TV, mini bar, internet connection and telephone. The rooms are spacious and open onto balconies. In addition to the historic main house, there is a nearby annex set in the park opposite the hotel. Each of the hotel's 44 single and double rooms is individual in decor and delightfully furnished. From May to October, our swimming pool, sunbathing terrace and patio bar let you relax under stupendous mountain skies. Surrounded by a beautifully landscaped park, you can enjoy incredible panoramic views of the Brixner Becken.
