Room was nice and a bit bigger than APA. Staff were very nice and approachable. I also liked how the front desk were not just Japanese, but other foreign nationals too! Hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the station but I liked the location since it was easily accessible and walkable to places. Overall a great hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay at Smile Hotel Kyoto Shijo. The hotel was clean, quiet, and in a great location with easy access to buses and the subway, making it convenient to explore Kyoto. As Muslim travelers, one thing we truly appreciated was having a halal restaurant nearby. It made finding meals so much easier and took away the stress of searching for halal food after a long day of sightseeing. The staff were kind, the room was comfortable, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it, especially to fellow Muslim travelers.
