We stayed 4 nights. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only thing is that you need to take a train to go Dotonbori but the hotel is close to the station so we did not have any problems.

You can tell hotel is old. It does have charm at least! Clean. Front desk person that checked us in didn't seem to like me, maybe because I'm a female tourist. Not sure, he was more pleasant with my boyfriend. You have to pay here for toiletries other than toothbrushes, and body sponge. Night robes provided and slippers. Room was comfortable, like the little picture in our room and the origami crane! No microwave in room. They filled our metal teapot with ice water, which was a lovely surprise. Location was pretty easy to find a few blocks away from subway.
