The parking was really hard. We came in late at night due to delayed planes, and you have to go down a dark alley to park. Super sketchy for a woman- lots of homeless around that area. The street in front of the hotel was hopping all night with homeless, and riff raff. It was a bit rough.

Solo stay

I was in the city centre, in a hotel which can be described as being like in little Istanbul. Plenty of shops, including Turkish and Middle Eastern ones. The hotel was not very visible from the road called Steindamm. My bedroom was on the first floor, and there was no lift to that floor, making carrying of cases to my room tiring. Not ideal for elderly guests. The en-suite single room was narrow and long - appoximately 1.9 metres wide x 5 metres. long. It had a wall- mounted TV, a bed, small table and chair. The narrow bathroom had a w.c., basin and shower cubicle. The room was basic, but the staff kept it clean. Not ideal for long stays.

Hotel itself is fine. Very clean and very comfortable with pleasant staff. Pretty basic so no tea/coffee making in the rooms. Easy to get around the city from here but the location is noisy overnight and not the nicest place to stay.

Hotel was good, just when yo go to your room, the hotel doesn’t have elevator to the first floor and you need to go by stairs. Hard for older people and no way for disabled people. Good location and train station very close.

Very rude staff. They don’t have elevator till 2nd floor so be ready to take your luggage to upstairs and then find elevator from the maze. No early check in available, leave your luggage and wonder in full of Dr*g area and night time be ready for street full of prostitution hub. Will not recommend at all. And DO NOT pay for the terrible terrible Breakfast

The hotel is close to Hamburg Central Station. This was the only good thing about it. I booked a single room of 258 sq. feet with a king bed. I received a single room with two single beds. I pointed out to the front desk that this was not what I booked. They responded that I booked a single room, and they are giving me two single beds, which is better than one single bed. Thermostat in the shower didn’t work and there was no hot water. The staff came to the room and tried to adjust the temperature. After some time, they said that water is OK. Water temperature was about 30 C. I told them that this is barely warm. They asked: “so you want hot water in the shower?”. I said: “yes, this is normal at a hotel”. The staff left to the “warehouse” to adjust something. In any case, there was no hot water as of midnight. In the morning, I called the front desk again. Housekeeping staff managed to fiddle with the thermostat and make somewhat warm water. However, when I reopened water on the same setting, it was cold again. It is a simple thermostat, so it should be easy to use. But the temperature adjusting handle was not working well. It seems it was not properly engaged to the internal element. Anyway, I never managed to have a regular hot shower (with the setting on the limiter) The staff also didn’t speak good English. Generally, it was the worst hotel stay in my life, and I have been to many hotels. A wrong bed in a smaller room, without hot shower is too much for one stay.

The street and area that the hotel is in seems very dodgy and noisy. The hotel is close to the main station and the main bus station. The staff at reception seemed to reflect the area. The person handling our check-in could not speak English and his German was barely understandable. The room was large, comfortable and clean. There are steep stairs up to the first floor, where one can (sometimes) catch an elevator to the next floor. Not recommended for anyone with hip-knee problems. The first day the elevator also did not seem to work. The bathroom was clean and functional, though some of the towels were so threadbare that I could have pushed my finger through some areas. The television only had three channels - 2 German shopping channels and Al Jazeera. The general impression of the place is tiredness. There were stains in the basin, the one bed lamp cover had holes in it, there were small holes in the duvet cover. Despite having a room facing onto the street, we did not experience the noise and commotion that other guests seem to have encountered. Our room was quiet, but we made sure to be back in the room before nightfall, as we would not have felt comfortable in the area after dark.

Friendly staff but the hotel is very old, unkempt, no elevator on the ground floor. The area did not seem safe, extremely loud at all times of the day.
