Fantastic

Rustic setting, friendly staff, and super convenient to ski out and back in to the hotel. Onsen after fay on the slopes felt divine.

The hotel was very outdated. This was by far the worst Japanese style room we stayed in on our 2 week trip. The mats were not thick and it felt like sleeping on the floor. We ended up checking out a day early and finding a different hotel in Matsumoto. You would be off staying in a hotel in the valley.

Very friendly and helpful staff, hotel itself is dated and tired. Chairlift right outside hotel.

Fantastic
This hotel was in the perfect spot for us. We had an authentic Japanese style room, with Pvt bathroom. The staff at this hotel were incredibly kind and accommodating to our needs from baggage storage, to help with sending our luggage on to our next destination. To allowing us use of the public onsen after check out.

As the last stop on our 2 week Japan journey, it was mildly disappointing to end with this accommodation. This property is dated, likely untouched since the 1998 olympics. The onsen has seen better days! The staff were friendly and great service at breakfast and checkin and check out. With a little update this hotel would be awesome. Snow monkeys are worth the trip!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Shiga Sunvalley. Loved the style of the Japanese rooms, it was very clean and the staff were exceptional! Usui and staff helped up with any questions we had, ski rentals, keeping luggage after check out, shuttle bus information. Would stay with them again 10/10

The lady who checks you in, she is very nice, good energy emanates from her, and she is helpful. I loved this place more than the hotels in Kumanoyu, and I would come here again.

This hotel has an amazing hot springs bath! Nice after a day of skiing. The Japanese style rooms are beautiful and large. The ski rental locker room is directly next to the Sunvalley ski lift, which is a great run and from the top you can ski to other shiga kogen runs.

Great

It was very traditional Japanese and the people were very nice. I expected there to be more of a village and maybe places to eat very quiet and serene. It was lovely while we were there snowing and very easy access to the skiing. The gentleman who managed the ski rental and drove the van was the most wonderful guy we met in a long time !
