Commemorate the fight of brave men and women during World War II in Malaya and Singapore, and the trials and tribulations of their subsequent internment in this half day tour. Turn back the clock in Changi, once the site of many prisoner-of-war camps during the Japanese Occupation. Then, take in the solemn sights of Kranji War Cemetery, the final resting place of thousands who perished in Malaya and Singapore. Hear their stories of bravery and commitment, and be inspired by the power of the human spirit. Finally, contemplate the Cenotaph, a war memorial which is an oasis of peace amidst the bustle of the Central Business District. See the battle scars of history frozen in time even as the city-state races into the 21st century.
Many thanks to Stephanie for the tour. Originally thought it would be a picture-taking session in Haji lane in the morning, but Stephanie engaged us in story-telling, giving us lots of nuggets of information about the history of the Singapore and Kampong Gelam. The Djembe drumming was fun. Instructor was nice. Pottery making, we took turns about 5 mins each since there's only one potter's wheel. Instructor is good and experienced (his works are displayed). Only got to try sculpting which makes sense given the price. The click art museum was interesting.
The tour of the Flower Dome was unfortunately not guided as we could have learnt more from the information received. I believe it was not permissible for guided tours. Overall the guides were excellent communicators and very efficient and friendly. The ala cart buffet lunch was excellent and the 5 of us at the table was very social and helpful. Strangers became friends. A truly enjoyable Singaporean experience.
Nice option to spend your Singaporediscovers vouchers. Within a trip, you'll get to support our local tour guides, attraction and F&B operator. Get to learn about the garden and ends the tour with ala carte buffet. The tour is well organized and the walk from Bayfront to Gardens by the Bay is slow pace and suitable for elderlies.
Such a fun tour of Chinatown! Our tour guide June had fun facts and I enjoyed learning about the Chinatown area as well as its cultural significance relating to modern Singapore. Also the food was fun to try out - trying hainanes chucked at the maxwell food centre was on my bucket list so this was a good opportunity. Also, I never knew kopi could be drank from the saucer and that was my highlight (depicted).
We had an absolute enjoyable time during the tour with our guide Darius! Darius was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make us feel very comfortable! We definitely learnt a lot about the beautiful history of Singapore River. Will definitely recommend this to everyone looking for something different!
A pleasant experience being a local tourist exploring and rediscovering Singapore once again! This wouldn’t be possible without our amazing tour guide, Rebecca! She is very friendly, approachable and extremely knowledgeable. I have gained insights and have a better understanding of Singapore’s culture and history! Ended off the tour with a satisfying meal at Tung Lok Seafood restaurant! Highly recommended for this tour package! :)
