Chinatown Food Tasting & Walking Tour

4.8 6 reviews | 100+ Booked
Join an intimate guided tour around Singapore's Chinatown area and discover both the culture and cuisine on this side of the city! Meet up with your guide along South Bridge Road and start your walking tour around the Chinatown Complex, beginning with a visit to the wet market. Here, you can observe the daily lives of the market goers and the vendors as they buy, sell, and banter on costs until they reach a compromise. Once you've made your way through the stalls, your tour will continue to the complex's hawker center, where you'll sample an array of local dishes like chicken rice, carrot cake, and Singaporean dessert - all of which are just a simple introduction to the vast and distinctive cuisine of the country. After your meal, you'll be taken to traditional shophouses where you can buy trinkets and souvenirs to take home, before returning your starting point to continue the rest of your day as you please.

Such a fun tour of Chinatown! Our tour guide June had fun facts and I enjoyed learning about the Chinatown area as well as its cultural significance relating to modern Singapore. Also the food was fun to try out - trying hainanes chucked at the maxwell food centre was on my bucket list so this was a good opportunity. Also, I never knew kopi could be drank from the saucer and that was my highlight (depicted).

We had an absolute enjoyable time during the tour with our guide Darius! Darius was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make us feel very comfortable! We definitely learnt a lot about the beautiful history of Singapore River. Will definitely recommend this to everyone looking for something different!

We have an amazing morning with Angel, our guide from Monster Day Tour. Although we are Singaporeans, we still learn quite a few new things from her during "A Guided Walking Tour of Little India: Journey of the Senses" She told us interesting stories and didn't bore us with detailed history, and she encouraged to have fun taking pictures, and be tourists in our own country. We were given a nice treat, a taste of India, too....

We have an interesting afternoon with Darius, our guide from Monster Day Tour. Despite we are Singaporeans, and have been to Changi Airport so many times, we still learn quite a few new things from him during this Guided Walking Tour of Changi Airport: The Jewel Connection He told us interesting stories and pointed out things that we didn't usually notice.

Went for this walking tour with some friends and was pleasantly surprised by how much I did not know about Singapore’s history in Chinatown. Really really loved the stories shared by the guide. The pace was just nice and there was a surprise snack! Walking around Chinatown with the tour guide really opened my eyes to gems that I wouldn’t have noticed if I took a stroll alone. Shoutout to guide Darius for entertaining our questions and shennanigans. He also checked in on us at different points in the tour to see if we are tired and helped us take great photos too. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves =) I encourage everyone to hop on this tour with your friends or family. You get to explore and learn about the rich heritage together, it somewhat gave us a similar feeling of being overseas ;’)
