Not staying long in Tokyo, but looking for a way to see the best sights in one go? This one day bus tour of Tokyo's finest sightseeing destinations will make sure you get the very best of the city. After getting on the bus, you'll first head to the famous Meiji Jingu Shito Shrine. Then you'll head to the famous Imperial Palace East Garden and the Ote-mon Gate, two of Tokyo's well-preserved traditional cultural locations, both playing a huge parting in Japanese history. Then you'll head to the world-renowned Asakusa area, where you'll see the Senso-ji Temple, one of the country's most colorful, the Kaminari-mon Gate flanking it, and see down Nakamise Avenue. This area has been captured in many tourist photographs! Take a quick break for a Japanese lunch (optional,) before you visit Tokyo Sky Tree and the Sora-machi Shopping Mall. Your last activity for the day is the Tokyo River and Bay Cruise, where you'll get to enjoy the cool breeze as you see the city from a different perspective. A multi-lingual audio guide will make sure you get important info about each stop and destination, allowing you to absorb the city's abundance of culture.
My usual riverboat service was offline, so I made reservations through nearby Mizube, and was glad I did. Substantially less expensive than other Sumida River lines, Mizube offers what the others do, with the bonus of a speaker pointing out the sites along the river (in Japanese). The clerks in the office and the dock workers were particularly friendly, efficient and helpful - I'll remember that the next time I book a river cruise in Tokyo. A most pleasant and memorable experience at a great price.
The cruise takes about 80 minutes and skims you past some of Tokyo's finest buildings; if you start at Asakusa you're in the shadow of the Skytree. There is a small deck on top of the boat you can stand on, and there are seats at the back of the bottom deck to get a great view of the back, but this is right by the engine so can be loud. If the weather is not good, there are plenty of seats indoors.
It's not "direct", you have a couple of stops, including Hamarikyu Gardens. Asakusa and Odaiba are four stops apart.
It's important to note that you don't get picked up from "Asakusa Pier" - that is a different River Cruise company. This pier is 10 minutes walk up the river bank, to "Asakusa (Sensoji Nitenmon) Pier". The ticket office is a small building just before a Tully's Coffee in Sumida Park.
Odaiba is a great entertainment venue, with a lovely beach, a giant ferris wheel, great restaurants, and the madness of teamLab Borderless. The boat is a scenic, serene way of breaking up one day into half-city, half-entertainment plaza.
#Symphony Cruise Eat cake and sip afternoon tea. Watching the Tokyo Bay 🇯🇵 ~ It is one of the best experiences of life once again. That has been fortunate since the No.1 seat is seated alone. The first table is beside the glass on the bay side .. snacks and tea น้ำ Don't have to mention Already good Because this is japan Anything is good. Everything .. Just seeing the boat is exciting. When stepping on the boat, sitting on the table suddenly, tears will flow ไหล .. Here we come alone for the first time. Why is this life so good ... How many memorable life would be? ... Once finished, we hurried up to the roof to pick up the wind and take pictures of the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 Tokyo Tower 🗼 Skytree 🎡 etc .. So first of all thanks to Hibiki ! She is one of the cutest, funniest guides ever. She had a really good, strickt time management and kept us all together. She knew a lot about the attractions we visited, took a lot of pics for us and also gave us some insider for the next days of our stay in Tokyo. We saw a lot on that day and while we were all super tired and exhausted, she was still full of energy and making jokes.
The tour it’s self is really to recommend. It is a pretty long tour with so many stops, but all worth to see. The dinner was super good and we got to cook our own Summo hot pot.
I really recommend this tour to everyone that wants to see a lot in a “short time” I think most of the people I met at this tour, were staying around a week in Tokyo/ Japan, including me, which is def not enough
I enjoyed it! You get to visit amazing tourist destinations in Tokyo in just one single day. Our tour guide, Jane was very nice. All the info and trivia about Japan she gave were very informative. She was never boring. She helped in taking good photos for those solo travellers like me. Oh, I love the food. It was great! This activity is highly recommended. Thank you again Klook! You must have quality people working for you. Everything is well coordinated. Kudos!
