The Whitsundays and great barrier Reef are probably one of the top destinations on earth to fly over. we had perfect weather and everything from check-in to pick up to the flight itself was as smooth as silk. Was a bit hard to hear the pilot's commentary through the headphones but the views made it hard to focus on the commentary anyway.
What one of the best day trips I have done in over 20 years of travel across 30+ countries. who would have thought such a gem can be found in my own state. Cheren has been an outstanding guide and has made a profound impression on my partner and I. she is an irreplaceable asset to the company and is worth her weight in gold (literally and figuratively). An absolute MUST do for anyone visiting the Whitsundays!
It was a great day. All the staff that work for Cruise Whitsundays were friendly and approachable. They also kept us informed of what was going on. The trip allowed lots of time to look around at our leisure. They were well equipped at Whitehaven beach, providing water and sunscreen to those who needed it. Was a very enjoyable day. Thanks to all concerned.
Recommended for a day trip out to the Great Barrier Reef: a must for a visit to the Queensland coast. For me a day trip is just perfect so that there’s enough time to spend relaxing on the cruise but also with some fun time at the pontoon on the reef. A one-way cruise trip is about 3 hours from Airlie Beach (with a stop over Hamilton Island) and the view along the way is amazing. Reef activities were great to begin with (the free ones) including a ride on the semi-submersible for reef viewing (with a guide) and snorkelling. There were also other added activities at cost including snorkelling, diving, helicopter flights over reefs, available for purchase on the cruise. NB that around 2 hours out to sea cellular reception is generally lost for the rest of the day until the cruise comes back close to shore. Lunch is included and was sufficient.
The team were very friendly and professional. Loved the semi-sub and underground chamber to view the animals without having to get wet. We did the scuba dive and snorkel, and got to meet Maggie the friendly Maori wrasse, and she absolutely made everyone's day. Would highly recommend this experience!
Amazing Experience! Worth every penny! They also let us upgrade our snorkel tour to scuba diving, and it was an experience of a lifetime. The instructors were great. Other than that the semi submersible ride was also really good. The food and lunch buffet served was also great. If you’re in Arlie Beach or Hamilton Island, do try!
