Concert Introduction

The upper secondary students of the Methodist Girls’ School String Ensemble present a repertoire filled with familiar string favourites! This includes Bach’s Sonata No. 1 in G minor, Handel’s Passacaglia, Paganini’s Caprice No. 24 and Joe Hisashi’s Studio Ghibli.

About Methodist Girls’ School String Ensemble
The MGS String Ensemble brings together like-minded individuals with a passion for music-making. The CCA strives to develop in its members musical skills of detailed listening, awareness of blend and colour and ensemble coordination. Through performances, competitions, collaborations and string exchanges, String Ensemble hones the character of the MGS girl and seeks to develop values of responsibility, resilience and empathy. The CCA also aims to share its music with the community, and to make a difference to the lives of others.

With the simplification of COVID-19 measures, safe distancing is no longer required between masked audiences. As such, there may be other patrons seated next to and around you. No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
All patrons (except for children aged 12 and below) need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Full vaccination refers to:
- having received the appropriate regimen of World Health Organisation Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) vaccines including their respective duration post-vaccination for the vaccine to be fully effective, and had their vaccination records ingested in MOH’s national IT systems
- recovery from a COVID-19 infection within the last 180 days
All patrons are required to do SafeEntry check-in at the venue via the TraceTogether app or token only. Other modes of SafeEntry check-in will not be accepted.
