Gyeongbokgung Palace photography

Hanok Hanbok Rental has a lot of ladies and gentlemen Hanboks you can choose from in a variety of colors, however for 2XL american men's size, it's really hard to get one. Jenny and her sister are very helpful and friendly- they can speak english well too. The Cheongdokgeung palace is the closest one you can go from the rental place and it takes like 5 mins walk. Choosing Dorothy Hanbok was the best choice we made on this trip. The owner of the shop was very, very nice and very attentive. She was very considerate of the designs and hair style that I want. I was also able to pick which hairpins and ornaments I can us. As for the qualitybof the hanbok, the designs were so good and the quality of the hanboks were good, no signs of wear and tear. They also provided a peti coat inside to give more volume to the hanbok. Out of curiosity, I found one more shop just outside the palace grounds, but the price was triple of not more than what I paid for yet the quality was not that good.

The rental store offers variety of hanbok which made it harder for us to choose--because they are all pretty. Plus, the store is just right across the entrance of the Gyeongbokgung Palace. Not a long walk. The costume can be a little uncozy to wear during sunny day as they are made of silk so a little less walking to the palace is helpful for a less sweaty experience.

Easy to redeem. No need to arrive earlier than your appointment time, they won't entertain if yoh are too early (happen to the group before us but had later slots). Orientation given in either korean, english or mandarin fluently. can take your time to choose dress but get very crowded in the earlier slot (of cos earlier will have more choices). Some staffs have average service attitude but 1 of them was very stern and fierce in giving instructions. 2 chances to choose your dress? however 2nd try would be your final decision already. Not like u cam try twice then have the final decision to go bavk to the 1st dress (that would be 3rd attempt). our appt is 9.30am (supposed to be 2nd group but there is already alot of ppl, maybe 5 groups of 2. We return the dress around 1pm+, the shop is empty. on and off there is ppl returning dresses but no one is choosing (would be better if u prefer to choose alone). tourist generally choose early, some worn until night. if intending to wear light colours, please wear light coloured bra straps or strapless as the colours would be obvious. hairdo is very fast and simple, within 3 to 5mins. expect no smiles, "thank you", "goodbyes" nor friendly eye contact in general. overall expeprience still great to take pictures.

We had an amazing experience!! There are soooo many beautiful hanbok's to choose from it made it hard to choose! I would recommend choosing the premium hanbok option as you get to choose from more options. You get your hair styled with your purchase as well and get to choose between a half up braid option or a full braid option (or you can pay more for another option of hairstyle). I also opted for more hair pieces used in my hair which was worth it (only an extra $3.50 cnd or 3500 won). This company is so worth choosing and you will leave happy. They are all so kind, patient and helpful! If you are wondering which hanbok place to rent from, this is the one!!! (Also it is easy to find and close to two traditional palaces within walking distance). If you want to walk through the secret garden of the one palace, make sure to note the times it is open as we went too late. Also 2 hours was enough time to enjoy the hanbok. Such a fun experince, if you enjoy history this a must do! I did the indoor photoshoot and very much enjoyed my time with the photographer! I got to choose my own skirt and top. If the size didn't work properly the staff helped me choose one that would work better! There were many add-ons you could choose if you wanted but it wasn't pushed on you! All up to what you wanted! Absolutely loved! Thank you!

Convenient transportation, clean hanboks, and a good selection. Free hair styling is included with reservations, and the staff are very nice, proactive but gentle.

It was a great experience! At first, we had some difficulty finding the place—maybe they could specify the location a bit better, as I went to the coffee shop and had to look around. It took me a little time to find the spot. It was extremely packed, but even with the crowd, they were very helpful and friendly. Definitely something you should try!
