Lombok is often referred to as the “unspoiled” Bali and it’s not hard to see why. Visit the local villages of the Sasak people, whose slower way of life is a sharp contrast to the fast paced development on Bali. Hike a short ways from the villages to discover beautiful jungle waterfalls. The waterfalls on Lombok are especially unique for having extremely lush vegetation, making for great photo shots. Take a plunge into their natural pools and live out that inner jungle fantasy. After a quick lunch at Batu Koq village, head up to Sembalun village, at the foothills of Mt. Rinjani, and see the mighty volcano at the best vantage points. Drive along the highlands into the Rinjani National Park for a chance to see some local wildlife, including monkeys! Stop at Sapit village for some great views of the island and then finish off your day with a visit to the monument of Rajah Seaparang, first king of Lombok.
