    MCO 2.0 To End 4th March 2020

    Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced in a press conference today (2 March 2021) that the MCO 2.0 currently in place in KL, Selangor, Johor, and Penang will be replaced by the CMCO (Conditional Movement Control Order) from 5 - 18 March 2021.

    States Under CMCO (PKPB) From 5 March:

    • Kuala Lumpur
    • Selangor
    • Penang
    • Johor
    • Negeri Sembilan
    • Kedah
    • Perak
    • Kelantan
    • Sarawak (till March 15)

    States Under RMCO (PKPP) From 5 March:

    • Melaka
    • Pahang
    • Terengganu
    • Sabah
    • Putrajaya
    • Labuan
    • Perlis

    • Inter-district travel is now allowed in all states in Malaysia with the exception of Sabah.
    • [Update] Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has clarified that travelling between KL and Selangor is allowed during the CMCO period as KL and Selangor are considered one zone. Permission from police has to be sought for those who wish to travel from KL or Selangor to Putrajaya unless you have a permission letter for work.
    • Interstate travel remains banned nationwide.
    • All social and businesses (including those that were previously not allowed to operate such as theme parks, spas, massage parlours, reflexology centres, manicure and pedicure centres, cinemas, museums, zoos, tourism activities, and more) are now allowed to operate with strict adherence to SOP. All premises in CMCO states can only operate within 50% of their original capacity.
    • All permitted businesses can operate daily from 6AM - 12AM.
    • Formal and informal events including celebrations, social gatherings, banquets, religious ceremonies, face-to-face meetings, and more are now allowed.
    • Dine-in at restaurants and F&B outlets are now allowed with 1 metre of social distancing and adherence to SOP. There are no more restrictions to the number of patrons per table. Food delivery is allowed from 6AM - 12AM.
    • Face masks are mandatory in public areas with the exception of in your own home, your own workspace, while doing sports or recreational activities (both indoors and outdoors), in your own vehicle with family members, in public spaces with no one else around.
